So sorry to hear this! I wish you joy and much laughter! Keep fighting. Don't be a stranger, just because you font have the car right now doesn't mean you have to leave the family.

Get one. It's no biggie; I've had six or eight, to monitor ulcerative colitis. The prep is the only annoying thing about one.
The prep really sucks! You drink a gallon of really nasty crap that tastes like battery acid, which causes your ass to travel into the future so you crap out things you haven't eaten yet!

Jim,
Sorry to hear about your cancer, I’ll be Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
I’ve heeded your advice and scheduled an appointment for my first colonoscopy, it’s something I’ve been avoiding.
Thank you.

This. Not a big deal at all.

All I'm going to recommend is that, during the prep, keep your cheeks clenched every time you move.

thanks all. To all of you that have responded that have lost loved ones to cancer, I'm truly sorry. To the ones that are facing cancer or have a loved one that is facing cancer, I'm truly sorry to you also. I have some relatives that are coming up to visit this weekend, from California, that are visiting me. It will be nice to see them to take my mind off of this.

Jim I'm like so many more, I am so sorry to here what you are going though, and everyone else that has posted about them or their family facing this awful disease. I am another planning on asking my doctor about it.
I will be praying for you all, that our Lord Jesus will comfort and be with you always.

Cancer sucks. Wishing you a big comeback, jimmerheck.

Echoing what others have said. I'm the biggest baby on earth about medical stuff. I avoided doctors at all cost for 40 years. But when colon cancer took my dad at 62 I knew I was going to have to come to terms with being poked and prodded if I was going to have any hope of sticking around as long as I'd like. That means a regular checkup (including the ol' digital prostate check) once a year and a colonoscopy every five years (family history). I hate it, but in the big scheme of things it's no big deal.

It's true what they say, the prep is the worst part of the colonoscopy. People kid around, but for most people it's not that bad. Just follow all the instructions completely. Follow every tip to make things easier whether you think you need it or not and be prepared for whatever they tell you (butt cream is your friend).

Then when the time comes it's just off to la-la land and then nothing until you wake up surrounded by nurses who really want to hear you pass gas.

OP, wishing you the best possible outcome. I've had a couple of colonoscopies and now I do the Cologard test. It sure is nice to know that you get checked. Prayers for you.

OP’s last post was 7/29. I certainly hope he is OK but no longer on the forum.
