I have a 2021 convertible that has 2 identical rips inside the top around where the rear windows are. It seems to be right where the fold is of the top and the rips are clearly from the top going up and down rubbing something. The car has under 14k miles on it and the warranty is almost up, but I've been going back and forth with the dealer trying to get this fixed but getting the run around.

Just wondering if I'm an anamoly or if this is an ongoing issue?

My '18 shows very little sign of wear on the outside and none on the inside.
I'd start pushing really hard to get it taken care of. Start documenting the damage and your interactions with the Dealer. I'd also consider calling Ford Corp and express my concerns and start a ticket.
Those tops are expensive and look like a huge pita to replace.

My 19 shows no wear at all
Is it ripping or is the seam coming apart

What dealership is giving you an issue?

If the car retains its 3/36, which is BUMPER to BUMPER, the Dealership should be covering the repair 100% under warranty. If they’re giving you shit, call the Ford 800# found on this site or in your owners manual, ask for a Regional Rep., state your concerns to the Rep. who should then open a case….

When I purchased my vert used, it had one place that concerned me. It appears to be from a snag/abrasion from somewhere down in the storage "pocket". It hasn't worsened since I purchased the car a little over 4 years ago, thankfully. I'll try to take a pic later for you to see and compare.

It's on the far side of the seam. It's not coming undone but it's in the "excess" area of the top like after it was sewn and cut. It's deep enough that it goes through the first layer of black material

Thanks. It's still in the 3/36. I'll give them a call today.

I've seen this on multiple occasions. It's typically just slightly out of adjustment from the factory. It's covered under warranty.

For some reason, certain dealerships seem to not like messing with the convertible mechanism. I got really familiar when I had to fix my daughter's 2014 convertible top. It's not rocket science, and there are a TON of adjustment points that need to be right in order to avoid the situation you are seeing.

I'd suggest you call Ford as Cobra Jet suggested and just go around the dealership if they are giving you a hard time.

Here's a closeup of the damage I have. Not sure what contacted the fabric to create that issue.

Finally got movement today after talking to the service manager. Said he got a new top on order 7 to 10 days. He didn't mention any adjustments, I'm wondering if this is going to be an issue in another 10k miles. Here's a Pic of the wear it's similar on the other side.

Indeed that is a down-the-road problem, especially if you don't have it taken care of under warranty. Hopefully I don't have an issue in that area. But it would be good for me to check, and get it fixed.
