Is this normal?

So I opened up the hood last night, something I dont really do often and noticed an area on the engine that looks "wet" os possibly like something is leaking. When I touched the area a black grime came off, oil? Wondering if this looking normal or do I have a problem with the engine? Its contained to one area, nothing below looks to have a similar look. Knowing nothing about engines but this raised an alert in my mind.

Where are the ac condenser lines on the EB? That would be my first guess.

Ah maybe that is it. It has been VERY hot and humid the last couple weeks, and being summer A/C is on all the time. I would think if it was a leak it would look different.

Yea from what you have descried I would think the lines right next to your area of concern are in part AC lines. Condensation from the lines could be dripping down onto the block causing the stain. That grimy feel would be road grim mixing with the water on the block.

oily spot on front of engine

My mustang has developed the same oily spot on the engine, I can't figure out where it is coming from. Anyone else?

If I seeing right in that pic, the leak is right on front cover near turbo inlet (left lower front cover) .

I would check those studs that hold the turbo vacuum/boost lines .
They maybe not tight but see if you can find highest point as that is were it starting .
There a bango oil inlet point right below the stud for turbo .

Don't have ecoboost but I doubt very much AC lines come near there , they are generally from rad section (AC condenser ) to sides by fenders and again along back of engine bay . The AC compressor is there but lines are back a bit from front of engine .

Either way I would bring it in to get checked out .

I have not yet. Figure I will mention it to the dealer when I take it in for the recall. Again it really does not appear to be a leak, it much more resembles a condensation issue.

Yes, but condensation doesn't leave a stain , residue .
can you take pic from side view, over passenger fender down above AC pump ?
Definitely bring it in to get looked at though .
