I test drove the PP GT and it was a no go for me. Too stiff. My wife also drives it and I know that she would have complained about the bumpiness of the PP. I love my decision to not go w/ the extra thousands and do the PP.

Ditto. Saved money and didn't get the ugly black wheels or summer tires. Was the right decision for me.

Non performance back for me. Didn't care about the gears, the car is turbocharged. Didn't care about the wheels, I'm changing those out in a month. Didn't care about the suspension, I'll add lowering springs regardless. Didn't care about the gauges I'll be monitoring everything through other means. I'll miss the brakes and radiator but that's about it. Wasn't worth it to me. Once I put the wheels on no one will have a clue if the car is PP or not

I bought a base GT and I'm still kicking myself for not getting the PP... or at least steeper rear gears. I'm not sure about the ECOboost, but gears really wake up the V8 cars.

Too boring with the stock gears and not nearly enough acceleration. The GT needs at LEAST 3.73s.

On the bright side I'm getting 2 mpg better than I got with my 2011 that had the 3.73s. Not that it makes any difference in my finances. The mpg gain from a gear change is almost non-existent.

I would encourage if you like performance to "don't fear the gear".

I replied in another thread like this one about non-pp vs pp EB's:

Motortrend talks about the differences as they tested an automatic with PP and a stick non-PP:
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1503_2015_ford_mustang_ecoboost_23_manual_first_test/

I chose to not get the PP with my ecoboost. Even though I wouldn't cement a magazines tests as this is the best the car can do. (Car and Driver tested better acceleration times than motortrend for example) It overall didn't help win me over to spend the extra $ for the package as per motortrend's results. Plus I don't like the 19's either, so there's that too.

From the article:

"Because the auto was equipped with the $1,995 Performance Pack, which adds beefier braking hardware (13.9-inch rotors/four-piston calipers front and 13.0-inch rotors/single-piston calipers rear) and a larger-diameter rear anti-roll bar, the only performance test in which the automatic really outshined the manual was the braking test, where it stopped 2 feet shorter than the manual's 108 feet. It seems that the automatic's 255/40 Pirelli P Zero tires included in the performance package didn't make much of a difference around the figure eight, either, as the manual posted a 25.0-second lap time and 0.85g average versus the automatic's 25.5-second lap time and 0.80g average." -motortrend

I have Eco PP premium Manual.

In sport+ no cruise I get like 23-26 mpg having tons of fun.

In snow/wet mode ACC set at 80 I got just below 35 mpg yesterday on my 50 mile trip.

Hope that helps.

My opinion, it depends how you drive it. But for me it's nice to have the option when I want it!

(This is w 18" blizzack LM-32's, having swapped back to Pirellis yet)

I have an EB with the Performance Package, it is the perfect daily driver for me. The handling and response is fantastic. The ride is amazingly smooth and comfortable for a car with the handling it has. I drove both a non PP and PP Ecoboost and I found the PP car to be much more responsive and the 3.55 gears have a lot to do with that. I am getting 28-29 mpg in my suburban commute.

I don't hesitate to recomend the PP for daily driver duty for a second.

base ecoboost. part of me is kicking myself for not getting premium but thats sorta outta my budget. i did get the PP on my base and love it. car handles very nice. if you dont like the PP wheels just sell them and make most of the money back.

So I test drove the Base GT with PP I really enjoy it. But the plans I have with this car is to make it into a street/drift/track car. Which I would be taking the back seats out throwing in a cage etc. Should I go with a Base GT or spend the extra money & get it with PP???

I got the GT Premium and ALMOST got the PP but decided that there was no way I would EVER use the additional capabilities of the PP driving to/from where I drive. And it's not likely to see a track. Yes, it's a relative bargain -- IF YOU WANT IT -- but it's just wasted money if you're never going to take advantage of it.

Just placed an order. PP. White. Base (cloth) interior.

I test drove an eco PP (Recaros) and a GT non-PP. I think the PP did make a noticeable difference in the feeling of braking and turning even under normal driving conditions. And my wife and I didn't find it too harsh over small bumps.

Now to figure out how to get snow tires on the thing...

Wise choice. Plenty of time to get winter tires. Auto or stick?
