The main differences seem to be Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatability and that Sync 3 is less sluggish. If you don't care about that then Sync 2 will be fine.

Don't forget the capacitive touch screen. That's a major difference, especially in a car.The main differences seem to be Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatability and that Sync 3 is less sluggish. If you don't care about that then Sync 2 will be fine.
Correct. As I said I wanted CO but it was deleted so I opted for magnetic until I discovered GB was coming...CO was not an extra cost. Well not here in the UK.
Did you get hit with the ÂŁ500 increase because of colour change or just for sync 3?Correct. As I said I wanted CO but it was deleted so I opted for magnetic until I discovered GB was coming...
What price are they listing GB at? I was lead to believe GB would replace CO (Therefore being a 'free colour' like RR), White will be the same price as TY and Lighning i'm assuming the 500 mark...Did you get hit with the ÂŁ500 increase because of colour change or just for sync 3?
Exactly in the same position as you, missed out on CO, then chose triple yellow and have now changed to GB. Was told my original delivery date remains unchanged and no hint of ÂŁ500 increase.
What he said. The Ty is premium so ÂŁ795, the gb is free so they probably did charge you the 500 but also kept the difference. What price are they listing GB at? as you ordered a TY, and changed to GB, your price should have dropped the difference between TY and GB, no?
May build is last for my16 UK RHD. Assuming you were first in line and got a June16 build (doubt that will happen) you could pick up for September. Likelihood would be my17 builds for UK starting late july/August and delivering for winter.I very much doubt you will get MY17 in sept. Wonder if we will see any RHD until 2017. They will concentrate on getting the US cars out there first before RHD.
It's a personal choice but Ford have literally millions of cars out there with the sync and sync 2 system so they won't switch off support anytime soon. Works great with my iPhone and iPod (and also worked well with Windows phone), is the same in both my cars, and I'll have had a year driving my Mustang before it comes in. When you get older, these things matter more. There are still some details I'm waiting to find out about the Sync 3 system, but as an Android user my opinion is that having Android Auto and Sync 3 is definitely worth waiting for.
Like with so many early Smart TVs whose netflix apps have long since stopped working, the Sync2 is a proprietary Ford platform rather than an open standard platform. In a few years if ford can't be bothered to support the latest Spotify API changes, then the Spotify functionality breaks. If I'm using Spotify through carplay via my phone.... well, there's a better chance that spotify themselves will keep updating and supporting their app for a big platform like android than some comparative niche platform like Sync 2.
Same for everything else on it. Android Auto gives me the possibility that long after ford have gotten bored with updating their old gizmos I can still get up to date navigation, media and other apps. Meaning the car I buy, I can be happier with for much longer.
That would be brilliant, but will probably go the way remote start did for Europe i.e. you can't have it.Sync 3 really does appear to be a big upgrade.. It's not just the syncing with smart phone whilst driving but also whilst away form the car. I can't wait to be able to defrost my car from an app!!! Or starting the air con on a hot day from the app!! It's going to give me an extra 10 mins in bed on a winters morning. Delivery of mine I'm told will be October (fingers crossed) so sync 3 will be very useful. :clap2:
