Maybe reread your post whereby you stated "There are very few GT350's out there" after which time you justify your position by stating that Ford sold nearly 20M cars globally.
That likely explains why multiple have reported the screws missing all together. I assume techs cant get it ligned up and just leave out the screws becuase they assume its just a plastic part that has no function.
You have to use the trick with the paper towel pieces (from the official Ford install video) to hold the screws in place before getting to screw them in (magnetic socket would do the same). Maybe that was too much to handle for some folks
What sucks is that those screws are on back order and I had to order torx head screws...bc that's all I could find with the correct thread. If the pitch and diameter are correct I think you are fine. If you really care get those Torx ones on, and when the original ones come back in stock replace them.
Appriciate it...i should be getting the the hardware i found on amazon this week. i am sure i can make it work, but i will keep you in mind if i need something. i didn't even check the belly pan on my car, but i will check that as well.
Mine came off at 140+ and was quite the violent surprise. It ripped multiple attachments from the belly pan and even two tabs on the back of the front bumper. I do not want it happening again, which is why i suggest going over it all yourself. Youād think no dealer this day and age would want issues for a customer at that speed, but youād also be wrong lol
If you don't use the mallet, the tabs will not click into place. Does not look fully seated to me. Can you get a mirror to the back side to see if tabs are in? Check those 4-45deg screws in the middle too.So, after reading and watching video and pictures of front splitters I looked at my(see pic below). I went to my dealer where car was purchased new. The guy who I know previously(he installed splitters before and is familiar with the process), put the car on the lift and examined the splitter. He showed me that all the hardware was installed and assured me that the splitter installed properly. When I mentioned the YT video, he said that he watched it and said that they don't like to use mallet hammer. He gave me his word that the splitter installed correctly and the gap seeing on the pic is within the Ford specs. He also said that the gap should be there to prevent rubbing splitter against bumper.
