I put my splitter on myself, and I wonder, how the hell were the screws put in underneath if the front tabs weren't snapped into place? When I installed it, it didn't seem like the holes would line up unless the splitter was first snapped up correctly.

FoMoCo sold nearly 20M cars from 2015 to 2017, globally. The current GT350 build is insignificant.
Maybe reread your post whereby you stated "There are very few GT350's out there" after which time you justify your position by stating that Ford sold nearly 20M cars globally.

What does Ford's global overall production have to do with the number of GT350's sold in NA over the past couple of years?

You do know that the GT350's are only sold in the U.S. and Canada and if we include already what Ford has produced for the 2018MY there are ~15,000 GT350/R's presently out there.

Sorry to hear that you had to supervise your 3 visits to a Ford dealership and as that has certainly not been the case for me.

For you to generalize that the average Ford dealership has no idea what there are doing when it comes to these cars is disappointing and suggest that you move onto another dealership that can provide you with better service.

That likely explains why multiple have reported the screws missing all together. I assume techs cant get it ligned up and just leave out the screws becuase they assume its just a plastic part that has no function.

You have to use the trick with the paper towel pieces (from the official Ford install video) to hold the screws in place before getting to screw them in (magnetic socket would do the same). Maybe that was too much to handle for some folks :)

What sucks is that those screws are on back order and I had to order torx head screws...bc that's all I could find with the correct thread. I can see why that process would be needed for install, so I'm not sure how the hell I'll get mine in.

If the pitch and diameter are correct I think you are fine. If you really care get those Torx ones on, and when the original ones come back in stock replace them.

My dealer installed the splitter correctly (mostly). I had to replace it one time because the servicing dealer scratched it up (but they gave me a new one which I requested to install myself). All in all I did it 3 times now (including removal 2 times). It really is not that hard if you pay attention.

ford dealers suck at this simple installation. it takes a little extra time, and its not their personal car is why they give zero shits about if its in correct or not(usually not).

between this and the belly pan, i counted 16 pieces of hardware the ā€œtechā€ failed to install. and i even sent them the damn video. they know nothing about the 350, and really don’t care to learn.

OP, watch that video and if you are doing the other installs, this’ll be easy for you.

jlauth if you need those pieces let me know how many. if i don’t have them, i’ll give ya contact info of guy on facebook that has all the little pieces of hardware and trim pushpins

When I found out some of the splitter screws were missing in my former 16 track pack, it took 140 mph to pull the front of it down away from the tabs. If you don't plan on doing 140mph anytime soon, don't sweat it. Take it back to your dealer and have them install the screws when they come in stock.

Mine came off at 140+ and was quite the violent surprise. It ripped multiple attachments from the belly pan and even two tabs on the back of the front bumper. I do not want it happening again, which is why i suggest going over it all yourself. You’d think no dealer this day and age would want issues for a customer at that speed, but you’d also be wrong lol

Lemme know if what you get doesn’t work

So, after reading and watching video and pictures of front splitters I looked at my(see pic below). I went to my dealer where car was purchased new. The guy who I know previously(he installed splitters before and is familiar with the process), put the car on the lift and examined the splitter. He showed me that all the hardware was installed and assured me that the splitter installed properly. When I mentioned the YT video, he said that he watched it and said that they don't like to use mallet hammer. He gave me his word that the splitter installed correctly and the gap seeing on the pic is within the Ford specs. He also said that the gap should be there to prevent rubbing splitter against bumper.

If you don't use the mallet, the tabs will not click into place. Does not look fully seated to me. Can you get a mirror to the back side to see if tabs are in? Check those 4-45deg screws in the middle too.

It is not fully seated. Mine looked the say way. I used the mallet and paper towel roll and knocked the shit out of it. Click, click, click, fully seated with no gap. Your's is not properly seated and fully secured.

The dealership guy is flat out wrong.
