These cars emit a lot of heat, even though coolant and oil temps remain within normal range.
This past summer, while sitting in 90° weather with a/c on, in bumper to bumper traffic, I noticed the inlet air temperature was over 150°. That's the temperature under the hood. But engine and oil temps were just slightly elevated. These engines dissipate tremendous amount of heat, keeping the internal temperatures normal.
