Is it normal for these engines to be hot as hell?

These cars emit a lot of heat, even though coolant and oil temps remain within normal range.
This past summer, while sitting in 90° weather with a/c on, in bumper to bumper traffic, I noticed the inlet air temperature was over 150°. That's the temperature under the hood. But engine and oil temps were just slightly elevated. These engines dissipate tremendous amount of heat, keeping the internal temperatures normal.

Think thats bad try removing the metal cap off the carbon fiber wheel after a hard track session. I have never had brakes emit this much heat. Even so, they worked great.
