Test drove one, for me it was akin to sitting on the floor of a boat. felt like too much car sitting (around) me.
just didn't feel right, too uncomfortable. didn't care for the interior. but that didn't
Factor into the decision that it wasn't for me.

I despise the front end, reminds me of the Cheshire cat. it looks great from a side view, and the rear is OK. except for the lights, previous and current Gens.

Nah! not interested.

I'm really underwhelmed by the styling of the new 'Stang and the HP/weight numbers were a major letdown. So yeah I'm interested in what the next Camaro will be. It's one of the few cars out there that absolutely doesn't look like anything else on the road.

It really all depends on if Chevy is content to stay with the current Camaro design and specs because they have a sales lead or if they go crazy with it like they did with the Stingray and Cadillac.

yes i will definately wait for the next camaro because than this new Mustang is 1 or years on our market in germany and the prices would be "normalized" like they did for the camaro after 2 years of it´s debut.
Second reason is all my cars had/have a sunroof and i missed it on the last Stang so much; camaro, challenger has one and it´s ok for me.
Another point is that nice HUD which makes fast driving on our Autobahn a bit mor comfortable...first i didnt like it in the Camaro but driving the Mustang back again i missed it ! :-)
I hope they improve the interior very much ! therefore it´s worth waiting like on that 2015 Stang.
sure the Mustang is in front all in all especially the 5.0 but the LT1 engine is very good and i smell this time the new camaro could be the winner....but price is the factor nr1.

I was considering a Camaro because I think it will win this round. I've never liked the design that Chevy has to build to satisfy the faithful (gigantic pointy hood/high dash/ poor visibility), however.

With that said I've removed any GM from consideration moving forward. My wife has an SUV and it's recall after recall. What sealed the deal for me was that it took 1 1/2 hours to replace her air filter the other day. GM made it virtually impossible for anyone without taking it in to a GM dealership that has special tools. I've come to the conclusion that GM really doesn't give a crap about their customers and I won't support that with my dollars moving forward.

I'm not very objective about this. So long as GM is owned by the UAW, they won't get a single dollar of mine.

On the more objective side, the current Camaro looks like a Transformer and has all the interior class of a Chevy Cobalt. It may go like fury and handle well with enough tire (what car doesn't?) but it's not a car I see myself driving.

The new Alpha-based Camaro HAS to be better looking and will likely be a great driver. But for the first reason given, and for the 8 million (cars recalled) reasons we've seen this year, GM will still not be getting any of my money.

I can appreciate Camaros for what they are. I like the look of them.

But will i ever choose one over the Mustang ? Hell to the no.

I dont like many Chevrolet products. I've driven a fair amount and the interiors are just...well you know.

Short of a nice body, they don't appeal to me in any way.

In my opinion I can't see why anyone would choose a Camaro. But that's just my fanboyism coming out ;)

Im no fanboy, but if the next camaro can deliver the goods with lighter weight and better visibility AND a better interior Im all over it. I'd love to drop a vvt cam in an LT1.

No, Let's see if I can "recall" what I do not like about Chevy's and GM!! :)

GM bankruptcy was a wealth transfer from the investor to the union.

I suspect GM is already planning to announce the recalls on all new cars ahead of time as a new customer service enhancement. That way you can plan your routine service and recalls years in advance.

Yes GM has build some good cars (C7, etc.), but they are so far from what I think an ethical, quality corporation should be that they will not get any money from me until their track record changes (I think 10 years from now I will revisit). There are too many other manufacturers to choose from.

Really great discussion so far. Lots of different answers and perspectives. I definitely do consider the current situation with GM and the recalls to be an impediment to me buying a Camaro. I feel a similar way about VW. Love the idea of a Golf R or GTI but can't get past the pics poor reliability record.

The new Camaro would definitely need to be a home run in multiple ways for me to consider, but I am at least interested to see what they come up with.

I just don't care much for it. I think the new taillights are worse than the "corvette copies" it was reborn with.

And I didn't think it looked very much like a '69 when it first came out. It was too pointy, like a mashup of a '69 and an '02. I liked the last Firebirds, but the Camaros were always too wide-eyed and goofy. I haven't liked any Camaros since the '73, and haven't particularly loved any Firebirds since '78.

Most these new cars look like they put a garden hose in the tank of an original car and overfilled the it till it looked fat and bloated. The new Corvette and Mustang seem like the first couple to finally break this trend. I know they are much larger than their ancestors, but they look a quite a bit more fit and trim than most cars.

I have nothing against GM (dad had a couple Suburbans my whole childhood and they were great) and nothing against the Camaro.

But there's just something about the Mustang. It speaks to me; always has. So unless the Camaro was a SUBSTANTIALLY better performance car, I'd go with the Mustang. Considering how good the S197+ Ponies have been, there's no reason for me to go Camaro.
