I just got a new 2018 Mustang with Sync 3. Usually my iPhone works fine but every once in awhile the phone makes the noise that it makes when connected to power but it does it over and over and over again. Meanwhile, the phone won't connect to mobile apps or activate carplay. The only fix I have found is to reset the stereo to factory defaults but then I lose all of my settings. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

You reset sync 3 to factory defaults when you have connection issues with your iPhone? Have you tried rebooting your phone? Re-pair your phone via Bluetooth? Connect with a different cable?

Have you tried anything other than defaulting settings? Also, what build of Sync3 are you running? Have you updated to the latest version?

Try cleaning the lightning socket in the phone. At least for the lightning connector sockets there is a huge accumulation of dust in there that has to be removed on a regular basis.
At least this works for me. Everytime my phone starts doing this, i clean the socket and condition is gone.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. It's never happened on my other car or on my previous Ford. It seems to be unique to this Mustang but maybe it's just coincidence. Thanks again.
