Introduction - Spencer505

Hello! My name is Spencer, I'm out of Albuquerque, NM. I just enlisted into the worlds greatest Air Force, and should be getting a job offer within the month. I know, I know, I drive a Chevy Malibu :frusty: I needed a reliable car to travel with during High school and got a deal on a decent car. Although I may own a chevy, I've been dying to obtain my dream car, the Mustang GT. And that will soon be a reality this summer! :amen: Feel free to ask me any questions if you have them, or to bash on my chevy haha!

Be careful before jumping in to a GT. Way too many new guys buy a brand new car they absolutely cannot afford and they end up very upside-down before jumping ship and end up having to fix the mistake for years.

Understandable. At this point in time I can comfortable afford a 48-60 month loan, + insurance, gas, maintenance, ect. The only problem is my addiction with mods!

Hi, my name is Matt. I'm 31 and live in Lancaster PA. I picked up my 2015 GT last Friday. I've been a Mustang guy since I started driving. I also own an 85 GT that's excessively modified but is unfortunately in 10,000 pieces in my garage awaiting a restomod. I'm hoping to do some learning on the forums and hopefully spread a little knowledge as well.

Hey everyone, I'm Mike and just registered to get some more info about the new Mustang before I decide to buy one down the road.

...but first, let me get this out there and (hopefully) I don't get much hate.

I currently have a Pte5862 turbo 2012 Civic Si (making +/- 400whp) and am historically a GM guy. I owned a 2001 Camaro and a 2004 GTO LS1 previously. I respect all cars so hopefully I don't get much hate for being on this forum.

A little more about me, I am USAF and stationed at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. I'll be here until June 2018 at which point I'll probably want a new project and I'm assuming by then the new 5.0 should have all (if any) of its quirks worked out and I think that will be the next car I pick-up.

Anyway, it's nice meeting you all and look forward to getting some good info from this forum.
Hello from Hawaii:
I've had just about every hot car made during the last 50 years or so.
I owned a new 2008 and the a new 2012 Civic SI, They were very nice and fast but I got very tired of being asked if my Grandson had loaned me his ride. The new Mustang GT is one of the best cars I have ever driven. They are so far beyond any Mustang made that's its incredible. We bought the convertible because its always warm in Hawaii and the trunk is big enough to put five bags of horse food. { my wife made sure of that before we ordered ] Go ahead and get that dream car now before the government takes our big V8's away.

Hello All, I'm John and have been a lurker on this forum for a while, but finally, just registered. I got lucky back in November and found the exact car I was going to order, coming into a dealer about 50 miles away. It was in transit when I bought it and came in just 3 weeks later. Got it at 'X' plan plus some rebates and a very good trade for my '05 GT. So far, the car exceeds my expectations, in almost every way. Good to be here!

Almost Ready to Order

I have been lurking on here for 2-3 weeks. I have found lots of good information here. Thank you to everyone who contributes.

I was in high school when the first fox body GT came out. Of course I wanted one; but I was never going to get one. In college I test drove a 1987 GT; but little things like tuition payments and rent got in the way. Then all of the normal demands of having a family got in a way. I had to waste perfectly good Mustang money on necessities like a Suburban since I could not get all of the kids to fit in a Mustang. Very nearly bought a used gen4, but ended up with a more practical vehicle. I liked the looks of the 2005 Mustang GT and really liked the 2010 re-design. It was however in 2011 when they put the new 5.0 in that I really started to take notice.

I started to get serious about a Mustang GT in March of 2014. I wasn't ready to make a purchase just yet, but I was getting close. I spent lots of time on Craigslist looking at used Mustang GT's. I really liked the 2013 freshening and so was looking for a used 2013 or 2014. Finances were such that this was the best option for me. I was not in a hurry and figured that prices on used 2013/2014's would come down when the gen6 Mustangs came out.

Then in February of this year I ended up with a 2015 Mustang V6 as a rental car. I was so impressed with that Mustang V6. Shortly thereafter I started looking at and driving the 2015 Mustangs. (One nearby dealer has a loaded new 2014 leftover that I seriously considered, but I decided I really wanted the IRS and the new interior.) I have driven multiple Ecoboost models, but they just do not do it for me. I have driven multiple GT's with various options. Due to where I want to be financially, I have eliminated the Premium model and will go with a base GT. Right now I am leaning heavily toward getting the Performance Pack--if I can convince myself to own a car without a spare tire. If I do not get the Performance Pack, I would still get a base GT but would add in the 3.55 rear end.

The colors I am looking at are Race Red, White or Silver. I will probably order in the coming week. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciate. Thanks.:ford:

Hello from Hawaii as well! What color is your convertible? I haven't seen much 2015's around.

Hi Read your note about the base model not having a spare. As far as I know a spare is a option on any level Mustang you order. The good news : there full size and only add $150 to the order.
As a side note My wife and I were shopping, when I opened the door I put the fob in the coin tray and shut the door. Now I was locked out. What could have happen? Its not suppose to lock with fob inside the car. Had to take a taxi 25 miles back home for the spare . The other key opened the car, and I saw what had happed. Two small knifes were up against the fob blocking the signal. So make sure the coin tray doesn't block the fob.
I'm out a 75 dollar taxi ride and several hours of feeling stupid.
