He needs to pass CARBWengerd has a wicked tune for the 5.0 GT350 x 87mm TB ! Stomps on the Ford Perf tune from what a few guys I know said.
Yes, they had the Ford Perf. tune first.
Is there a CARB test or inspection ?He needs to pass CARB
He has to pass California emissions, needs a CARB certification. Is there a CARB test or inspection ?
Isn’t it more an issue of shipping stuff into Cali ?He has to pass California emissions, needs a CARB certification.
In order to get tags you need to pass emissions.Isn’t it more an issue of shipping stuff into Cali ?
I’m questioning how do you actually fail in Cali ?In order to get tags you need to pass emissions.
Come on, you gotta know this.
Visual, OBD2 and they read out the tune calibration numberI’m questioning how do you actually fail in Cali ?
No any changes to emissions systems unless CA approved. I've heard of only one other CA approved tune besides Power Packs. Forgot its name as it wasn't worth it.I’m questioning how do you actually fail in Cali ?
What’s the Cali emission test protocols ?
Just because company XYZ can’t ship to Cali doesn’t stop my personal associates in another state from shipping company XYZ parts to me.
It's just tip in/part throttle knock which doesn't hurt anything, it's just annoying. Once you give it the sauce it instantly cleans up. The FP tune doesn't reduce the knock sensor sensitivity, but it does bump up the knock recovery rate a decent bit over stock making it more likely to be audible. What type of ping ?
An occasional rattle or full blown nonstop rattle ?
Are we talking about a possibility that Ford Perf. desensitized the knock sensors a bit and kick in later into the knock event just to extract a bit more power.
Seasoned engine Dyno operators know there’s a big difference between a few knock events vs full blown catastrophic uncontrolled knock.

What’s stopping a person from having a CARB EO tune for test lane then loading an Al Capone tune after passing test ?Visual, OBD2 and they read out the tune calibration number
