Use a plastic scraper/spreader, such as for interior painting. Or you can use a plastic body clip tool. What's the best way to get the sealer off?
Good advice!Use a plastic scraper/spreader, such as for interior painting. Or you can use a plastic body clip tool.
I sprayed a shot from a can of galvanic primer onto each seam.
These have been a tremendous product for Steeda ... if you haven't ordered ... don't delay!Just finished installing Steeda Ultralight Low Profile Jacking Rails on my GT and I wanted to put my my 2 cents for anyone thinking of this mod.
I don't have 2 cents, rather 2 words.. DO IT
Incredibly easy install. The exact definition of "bolt on part". 4 bolts for each side and you can easily jack up your car in half the time!
Here are some up-close pictures of the install as well as a video that includes the install

It's best to remove the seam sealer to install.Just enough to clear, apply primer sealer to the area before installing the jacking rails
it's best to remove the seam sealer. Will make sure all the instructions are updated. ThanksSteedaTech i didn't see anything about this noted in the installation instructions, how critical is this step?

I've been driving around without any seam sealer removal for the last 6 months, is the damage already done, or should I pull the rails and remove the sealer?it's best to remove the seam sealer. Will make sure all the instructions are updated. Thanks

No damage done. It's best to remove the sealer to get even a more snug fit.
I know the instructions in the kit have been updated, i will have the team update the web tomorrow. thanks

Here's a video of the jacking rail location with my rail removed and it doesn't look like any seam sealer is along the rail location, can you advise?

Thanks for the help. I really like these things and even made a video review of them I like em so darn much.
Oh right on. I hope my seams are gonna be okay.Your underside doesn't have the seam sealer that we are talking about. Some cars have had it some haven't from what I've heard. Mine is right at the seam where the two front bolts screw in. If you had it you would see it right away.
You will be just fine.Oh right on. I hope my seams are gonna be okay.
