So I finally got around to installing tips to my active exhaust since I love the factory mufflers. I purchased 4 4”x12” stainless rolled edge tips. I used an abrasive chop saw. I cut the outside tips 6.5” in length and inside tips 6” in length. This is from the longest part of the slash back. I then slid the tip on allowing the factory tip to slide into/against the top of the rolled edge of the new tip. I then applied a decent tig weld to hold the tip edge. Then I held both tips to get about a 1/4” gap between the two and tacked the back edge to top of the tailpipe. Rechecked/aligned then applied about a 1.5” weld. Keep in mind the factory tips are 3.5” OD and new tips are 4” OD. Mine are kinda half moon open at the bottom of the new tips but not noticeable at all. I did spray mine black using VHT satin black engine enamel. Hope this helps. I just couldn’t bring myself to attempt to bolt tips on. They would be rollin down the road eventually.

If someone would market a clamp on tip for the 2018+ with a rolled edge, they'd probably make a nice profit.

When I had my 2007 GT, someone was making a clamp on tip similar to what Ford included in the GT Appearance Paclage and selling them on ebay.

Purchased some 4"x12" stainless rolled edge tips from ebay. Nothing special. Think they were like 25-32 a pair. Cant recall as I bought them last fall n never messed with em. Then had an idea to attach them the way I did.
