Anyone changed tips on your active exhaust 18?

I would like to add some better looking tips to the quads, but spending $1500 plus on a cat-back seems like overkill. Anybody done or seen an 18 with just the tips changed?

I am interested in this as well. I would love to weld new tips on, but that frightens me

One idea is to find SS pipe which the ID match the oem tips OD.
slide them over, and tack weld them. Then the tip can be square on angled like the oem.
I did this few years ago on a M3. The Ss pipe was thicker than the thin oem tips. It was industrial SS pipe.
