Just finished yesterday installing the AJ Hartman coil over kit.
This kit is intended for those who have magneride but want to either adjust the ride height or want to fine tune their spring rates for whatever aero, loading or rebound you like.
The kit gives the advantage of adjustable ride height through installing shims (or removing them, depending on what your initial spring rate is). The adjustment of adding or removing the springs is pretty simple/easy, you simply take off the wheel, zip off a couple of retaining screws/nuts and then slip in or out the shims, reinstall the retaining screws/nuts and then put the wheel back on.
Initially I thought it might be more cumbersome than a traditional coil over collar, but the time it takes to do either is virtually the same as turning a coil over collar.
The other added benefits are that you can take advantage of a much larger market for standard sizing on the coil springs, so you can choose all sorts of spring rates, dual, progressive, etc.
For any of you who have and want to keep your magneride this is a great feature.
I installed a whipple and other elements up front that ended up dropping more than I wanted on typical lowering springs. The additional weight up front, as well as improved aero, also necessitated a stiffer spring rate to return the car back to closer to the desired response and compressed height.
Many of the softer springs, with improved aero will resulting in either bump stopping or scraping under hard braking (at speed).
Shout out to AJ and his great product. Installation was fairly straight forward and once we did the first side, we did the second side in just over 30 minutes.
I've only driven it home and am waiting to let the springs settle a bit before making final adjustment and then a realignment before I really flog on the front end. But so far, very pleased and the kit is a great value.
If you have a GT350, a Mach1 or a PP2, and you want different height, have added weight or aero and want to change rates, this is a good option.
One note however, he currently only makes kits for the common caster/camber plates, (Vorshlag, Maximum Motorsport and Steeda). Not sure if he has plans for an upper adapter to the stock/OE in the future. Chances are, if you're considering this type of upgrade you already have CC plates.
