They do handle very well but are designed for a specific purpose. I should have gone with the street versions and not the track versions. I've heard good things about pedders and those are more in line with my needs. I kinda want to just get away from coilovers and go back to a simple shock and spring lol
That’s an option also. Again it all depends on how competitive you want to be. If you’re doing it for fun not so much to compete in any class/bracket then by all means and sell that set up and try to get some money back. Good luck be safe out there and hope it all works out for you.

About 1.25 to 1.5 all around.

Anything that goes on a racetrack needs a significant percentage of the heave and roll stiffness from the front spring. Sad or otherwise, that's just reality.

ouch. I'd be surprised you have 1.5" of travel left. Put it on a lift and take some measurements.

I have Fortune Auto 510 with 117mm travel w/ 25mm (quite soft) bumper so only 117-25/2=104mm before mechanical limit. The factory instructions said put 6mm preload on the spring (8k?) which would then result in taking 50mm out of the travel. Instead I'm using a 4.5kg/mm spring so had to crank the snot out of the preload to get my travel back.

At the very minimum you need 75mm of shock travel to deal with potholes and such. Back when I had only about 50mm the damper would CLANG on even modest potholes. Now it's far less often but needs another good 15mm more.

I have it set at max height in the rear lol I can't go any higher, but the springs are so stiff that it doesnt hit the bumper. How do i measure the shock travel? How do you like your Fortune Auto 510s? I was looking at either going to Ford Performance track shocks and springs, and also looking at some Bilstein B16 coilovers.

their one major plus is ride-height is independent of spring preload. They work well enough that I haven't chucked them across the shop but I really need to get travel back. And I have a variety of cartridges that I'll be taking apart to measure the pistons and shim stacks and model the damping curves on ReStackor. I intend to to put in a one-way valve and a 2-stage compression stack when I get some time.
The shock body is 300mm so it's absolutely preposterous that they only give you 117mm of travel.

In the immediate term I'll be putting the SP083 spring + Steeda adjustable damper on the front for the upcoming track outing.

the easiest way to measure travel is to get the wheel at full droop and measure from the top plate to the shock body and take into account any spring bumpers, and then do the same measurement with the car on it's wheels.
