This is my first mustang since the 68 “Rustang” 6 cyl I owned in the early 80s … a huge difference between the two, lol!

I installed glowshift color change gauges. Wanted oil pressure& oil temperature with a true reading. Used a carbon fiber trim cover to adapt from the existing 3 grill a/c dash.

Where did you get the Glowshift gauges ? All the ones I've seen people put in are not Glowshift

Mustang Performance Gauges

Hi , i have been following this thread for a couple of months now and i have learnt a lot so i just wanted to share my experience so that others can benefit ..

I have a Mustang GT premium 2015 which does not come with the performance dash gauges , yet all premium models comes equipped with the gauges harness and plug which is tucked in the dash behind the infotainment system as in photo
IMG_5674.webp

I bought the dash trim and gauges used from ebay from a 2018 GT350 which comes with oil pressure and oil temperatures gauges which only have the white light background , then i bought the performance pack gauges with oil pressure and vacuum gauges which have mycolour back lighting

IMG_5814.webp

Once i plugged it to the connector the oil temp or the vacuum gauges worked but the oil pressure did not work .

Then i found out that you need to change the oil pressure setting through Hp tuner from switch to transducer as in photo and then oil pressure worked but gets stuck on 125psi ..

IMG_5793.webp

Then i found out that you need to re-pin the oil sensor wire (change the position of the grey wire from pin 48 to pin 57 in the upper connector of the ECU ) as in photo ..
IMG_5917.png

IMG_5915.png

by then the oil pressure worked but I got the low oil pressure warning on the dash everytime i starts the car .. i was told that i need to reprogram the car , or install a performance pack program !!!
I checked the oil pressure sensor in the engine and it was the one pin sensor , i decided to change it to the three pin sensor (performance pack sensor) part number in photo below and give it a try … and it worked .. now oil pressure gauge works with no warning on the dash ..

So as a summery : for 2015 GT premium you should do the repinning of pin 48 to 57 .. you should change setting from switch to transducer and you should have the three wire oil pressure sensor .. (i guess newer models of 2016 and above is already equipped with the three wire sensor but i am not sure , you must check it physically i guess

I hope this with not too long of an explanation but it took me a lot of research , trials and errors till i had it so i just wanted to share it and thanks for all the infos i got from this forum and other forums like this one

I am currently doing this mod. I have an early 2015 GT premium non-PP (February 2015 build) and I can verify it did not come pre-wired for the PP gauges. I had to order the harness pigtail
6U2Z-14S411-JB and splice it in.
I also only have the single pin oil sending unit and had to order parts CM5Z-9D290-B oil pressure sending unit and the harness AU2Z-14S411-GA.
I have the gauges wired in and dash replaced. I am running the oil pressure and vacuum/boost gauges from an EB since I have a Roush supercharger. The vacuum/boost gauges works and MyColor works.
I'll be wiring in the sending unit this weekend. I need to reach out to Roush to see if they'll update my tune or try to find a local tuner who can switch over my PCM to read the transducer instead of the switch.

You don't need this for the EB
Humm, I just got mine done, 2020 Mustang EB base, the cable was there and the fit was pretty ez. But the freaking oil gauge is not working, I got this set from an eBay seller, 100% feeback, but the car these gauges came out of didn't looked to good, so who knows if they tested them before sending to me. Hoping that is just a tune needed.

I'm hoping it just needs a tune, seems like that is why most will not work, but since is a 2020 EB base I thought it would work w/o issues. I swapped the radio to the 8 inch screen and it was 100% plug and play. so not sure what is going one. Is there a way test the gauge maybe a bench test?

Is it possible to get this software to do it yourself? I got Forscan but not sure if it can do something like this.

Does your base EB have the low/normal/high oil pressure readout in the center of the dash or do you have the digital dash with just oil idiot light.

If non digital dash and oil readout then you just need the PID turned on with tune. If digital dash then you will need three wire pressure sensor, wire pigtail and need to wire that onto the canbus for the oil pressure readout to work.

The digital dash models have just a single wire open/closed oil pressure switch to turn the idiot light on and it will only come on if there is no oil pressure with engine rpm above 400 so no key on engine off bulb check at all anymore.

You can look at the oil pressure switch next to oil filter and see if it has 1 wire or 3 wires in the connector also.
