Hi, any tips or tricks for swapping injectors on a Gen 5 head unit w/ Whipple rails?

I’m thinking I might need to remove my valve covers to have enough space to work but I’m not sure. I’m also reconfiguring the fuel rail for a Fore L2 system at the same time. Just doing a little homework beforehand.

Thanks in advance.

I was just doing the same thing. I realize this was an old post, but I was curious about what you found. Pulling the fuel rails off was not too bad, but I'm worried about getting the 1050's back in now.
My other question was about the Whipple fuel rails and the level 2 Fore system. How did you route the fuel the the Whipple rails if you used them?

Thank you,

Subscribing as I'll be doing this soon. I do not believe the blower has to come off. I expect it to be a tight squeeze, but hopefully able to wiggle things out and back in.

Not sure where you bought your fuel system from, but most systems have a specific option to utilize the -6an whipple rails. This way you'll have the right fittings and hose depending if you're running them in parallel or series.

I'm assuming this fuel inlet fitting will need to be removed from the rails and then plugged. Anyone know what size plug?

As a follow up, confirmed with Whipple that it's a 6 ORB plug.

I got FIC1000s but they are the GT500 ones because they are shorter. Thats what Beefcake told me and they work flawlessly.

Thank you. I’ve had a crazy week and I’m just getting back to this. Thanks for the plug size. I got that taken care of.
Now I’m looking at how the hell I’m supposed to get this fitting on the passenger side fuel rail with this coolant hose where it is. There is no way this is fitting under there.

Lets us know what you figure out. I’m not installing a Fore system, but will be doing the same thing at that spot. Also, why did you remove the supercharger lid?

So far, I’ve been told that I will need to remove that cooling line and then bend the pipe forward. Fore said unfortunately, that is the only fix that they know of. I also heard this from someone else. Not looking forward to that. (BTW, that is not a Fore issue, it is that the Whipple fuel rails are long)
The supercharger lid had to be sent back to Whipple for a leaking core. I just got it back and figured I’d leave it off for a tiny bit more room.

Appreciate the info. I figured it was because of the goofy Whipple rails. Good luck and keep us posted!

How accessible is that coolant pipe with the blower on the car? My car is in storage, so I can’t go look. Would this adapter help and then you can reroute the house so there is clearance? Would need to figure out what other fittings/adapters you’d need. Where does that coolant house route to? Heater core?

https://motionraceworks.com/product...-heater-hose-crossover-port-for-cylinder-head

**EDIT**

Fathouse fab makes (maybe others too, will need to search) the heater core firewall to AN adapter fitting. Would just need a -10an hose with a few fittings to reroute that passenger side hose.

Or maybe this is overkill and just tweaking that stock coolant pipe will be all that is necessary? I’m curious how much clearance it needs? Not sure I like the idea of bending it, so if it’s accessible (I would rather not remove the blower), I may go the route of using these adapters to make a new hose to reroute it.

One more idea if wanting to utilize an adapter like the one from Motion Raceworks, can go cheap with just get a barb type fitting. I believe that hose is 5/8”?

https://www.meziere.com/Products/Co.../ORB-to-Hose/Fitting-8AN-ORB-to-5-8-Hose.aspx

I do see some quick connect fittings that may work with the factory hose (may have to extend the hose), but that may be more difficult depending on how much room there is to work with:

Yes it is accessible with the blower on the car. The hose does come right from the firewall heater core. Some of those fittings look like they could be helpful. The tube fitting coming out of the block, I think still would need to be bent though. I really just need more time to dig in and see what I have to do. I’ve not been able to work on it in a few days.

Here is the hose routing. Funny thing is, when I first put on the Whipple, that line was leaking slightly at the front fitting. I had to push it back on several times to get it to stop leaking. Now, the damn thing won’t come off. 😂

Question. I will be installing my Whipple Stage 2 soon.
** Would I prevent this clearance issue If I just buy another set of rails like Arcane or Fore and install them? Would another brand fuel rails fit on my whipple?
Thanks
