The Nav is contained on the front 8GB SD card. I also have mp3's loaded on this card. And yea it most certainly does not have USB 3.0. It's Windows CE 6 (basically embedded Windows XP) running on an ARM processor. About the specs of a first generation iPad in terms of raw hardware. Screen is an 800x480 TFT LCD with a 500:1 contrast ratio and 450 nit max brightness. I have been searching for a replacement LCD without much luck yet.... Want an LCD with increased brightness and contrast. Will help with sunlight readability.

Just to clear things again here:
- The USB is only used to update the unit firmware - you cannot update the maps or use it to run a navigation app off it.
- The SD card is used to update firmware/run navigation app.

Just to be clear, did you mean the USB can update the system software and the SD can update the device's firmware?

Software = Firmware
That's what I meant
So if you have the SD access you don't need the USB to update the firmware/software of the unit.

How so? Seems like most people are itching for Nextgen. I'd personally just mirror and use Waze if it weren't for the fact that I can't control music from screen/steering wheel controls when using HDMI.
(1) Application SW can be OK to be updated from time to time: My point is that even Primo is a good SW, you don't need to update the SW many times unless you really want it.

(2) But, maps are normally updated every year, sometimes even by quarter, including speed limits and relevant POIs

(3)Another thing to consider: what you can do with this SW is prepare routes or create your personalized POIs in your computer (there are a lot of communities sharing that date). You copy it in you SD IGO library and import it. I have done lot's of car and motorbike trips across Europe and being able to plan routes and manage POIs is great.

Did we get an update?
My unit was having problems so he sent me an update. It only fixed the time issue. My nav hadn't worked since day two so he just sent me another(his) nav card. My USB still doesn't work. Seems my unit is messed up. Not satisfied with it and my dash has been torn apart for weeks waiting.

Howdy All! I'm a new v6 mustang owner and like everyone else, I can't wait to replace this radio. You all have been a wealth of information, thank you. I pre-ordered this radio a few days ago, but if I have to take apart the dash after the initial install for any reason, then I will have to cancel this order. That would be way too much work for me.

Then hang tight, the seller is supposed to be back from vacation on Monday; maybe we'll all have some more info.

Is there any interest in a used Moddiction Nav unit? I got one of the ones that was sent out in the first batch, installed it - used it (the only problem is the fact that the clock is off by one hour - a known issue).. I'm returning the car back to stock because I'm turning it back into the dealership due to them falsifying the contract - and I'm probably going to buy a Premium, so I won't need the Moddiction nav unit. Comes with all wiring, instructions, bezel, screen, etc and works perfectly.

Hey guys. We are looking into getting nextgen but it is more difficult than expected. If we can't secure that software they are available to purchase on eBay for $35 on a micro sd card.

As for replacing rear SD card, while it isn't quite as easy as if on front, you do not need to disconnect unit or anything. It would just require upper trim being pulled off and then the 4 bolts holding screen in to get access to SD slot. No more than 5 minutes to get to SD card. I could probably do it in 2-3 minutes.

Nav software is stored on SD card only so you can't load it from USB and then remove USB drive. You need to have maps stored on the card or flash drive.
