If you're a manual lover, would you buy 2020 with no manual?

I like to disassemble things.
If it takes performance to a higher level I say bring it on!

Granted it was in the raptor and on a EB 3.5, but I did not like the 10 speed at all. Hunted for gears a lot and freeway merging or spirited driving wasn't great. Freeway merge I would have it in sport mode and even still it would either go too high a gear when I needed torque, or get stuck in 3rd, 4th, or 5th when merging @ 60-70mph. Would take anywhere from 8-30 seconds to shift then. If I used manual control, as soon as I put into 10th and would go back to auto mode it would slam it back to 4th or 5th for 5-15 seconds. Dealer couldn't figure it out at all.

I hope some of those bugs are worked out IF the 500 comes with the 10 speed. If so I will be very reluctant to buy. I realllly hope its Manual OR DCT. No 10 speed

10 speeds are for bicycles, just like the only that should be sold in 2 liters are cokes.

Not quite. Autos make the car faster and more consistent. Manuals are more fun to drive overall but are a little slower and not as consistent.

Both are great and it is silly to think only manuals are any good or only autos.

Very true. I think the base GT500 will start around $75,000. GT500R around $80,000 to $85,000

It would be great if they offered both, and I love driving a manual, but at this power level it would be an exercise in futility to launch this beast with a manual. The last generation GT500 was manual only and the first thing that comes to mind about this car is how embarrassing it was to watch failed launch after failed launch at the track. 800,900,1000+ rwhp GT500's running 11's because they can't launch the thing. If only it had a auto....... It pretty much relegated them to roll racing and 1/2 mile top speed events. And I have no interest in any of that. So if ford is disinclined to offer both, I think ford has the perfect compromise in the DCT for track and drag racing. Car should perform great in all venues.

I'm sure the auto will be a lot of fun, but I can't see myself getting a sports vehicle without a manual transmission again. The auto might be faster, but I like the feeling I get nailing shifts and depending less on the technology.
