I recently installed BBK shorty headers on my v6. I noticed after the install that there is a bit of a quick airflow hiss coming around the engine compartment when I just barely accelerate. What I'm hoping is that I just never noticed the sound before and it's just airflow going into the engine. The sound doesn't go into the cabin and the hood needs to be open to hear it.
If anyone with a stock mustang can let me know if their car makes the same hiss with just slight acceleration I'd be very greatful.

I have a 5.0 and dont hear it when accelerating but if sitting in the garage with the hood up and crack the throttle i hear the suction/hiss sound.

make sure all your connections are on right and tight. if needed do a smoke test and that'll confirm if you have a leak or not.

Different than a smog test, I think they go by EVP test (dont quote me on that acronym though.)

Some dealerships have smoke producing machines that they can tie into your manifold and let smoke run through the internals and in turn look for leaks. If you have a header leak you'd see where it was coming out.

Theres a few DIY ones involving baby oil and a 9v battery but i've never used or had done one myself so i cannot speak for the reliability/safety of said things.

My local pep-boys has a smoke test that is 45$.
