Completely wrong I'm afraid. Nobody can use deaths to cases figures as the cases figures are pretty meaningless. All countries have undiagnosed positives and the death rate is unlikely to vary very much per se. Yes healthcare strain will influence it, as will population age but there is no way you are going to get 7.2% v 2.1%. In addition to all of this the US is at an earlier stage of the outbreak compared to US.

I'll post a link on death rates etc later that explains it all much better
Seems like a rather large disparity though?

Can of worms? It's the crux of the matter. It's about independence vs. centraliZation. The comparison is absolutely valid.
Yes but the US is one country - The EU is not. It's like saying thet the US / Canada / Mexico should act as one centralised unit - I don't see that happening !

Centralised is the correct spelling on this side of the pond

Totally false analogy. The EU (and EC) were designed in a very similar manner as an individual state. The treaty is constructed in a manner in which states yield many elements of sovereignty to the EU; hence the UK's argument for leaving. So, yes, the EU is very similar to the US in many ways.

Yes, because the cases figure is totally inaccurate for all countries and totally dependent on how many people have been tested - tests that everybody is fighting over because they can't get enough
I seem to recall that you were quite proud of GB's testing rate when compared to us dumb Yanks

The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S. or US) or America, is a country
On a map but one of the few Republics in existence and yes we are proud of that

Until we ran out of tests ! (I never used the term 'dumb' or 'Yank' by the way)
I added a bit of flourish to your argument, if you are going to call our president dumb and useless you may as well use that term for all of us.
