Getting reffed is very rare. I’ve lived in SoCal, San Diego area, for over 30 years. I personally have done many things to my cars and have friends who have cars that are stupid illegal and have never been reffed. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen and when it does I blame this only on the idiot road pirates out here…our stupid ass cops. One of them gets a hair up their ass and they feel they can do what they want. Personally, I would never, ever pop the hood of my car for one of these criminals, I’ll take the ref because my car is legal. I’d rather go thru the hassle of that than make one of those douche bags feel like they accomplished something…I know that sound stupid and I’m being an asshole, but I pretty much have zero respect for the cops. They are the real criminals.

more power lmfao, carb legal kit tops off at 700 wheel I was shooting for 850-900
Where in Cali? I know the Irvine area is a tough area for cars. I drive through Orange County I am so careful I don't go over 4k rpm. You know they allow you to modify your car in Cali, it just has to be legal mods. I only would use a CARB legal kit. I will say this...you better return it to a legal state or they will throw the book at you.

That YouTube rabbit hole I went into has lots of vids of guys getting reffed and the PD being super assholes. One I followed on was sort of a social media guy but he had a Mustang and had out of state plates, the PD that pulled him over (he's filming) told him he had gotten a warning. He's telling the cop "Hey I don't live here, just visiting." But the cop reffed him anyway. Yike!

I saw a YouTube video of a kid with an 350z who was from Utah or Vegas and the California cop state ref him for the exhaust. I asked in that thread how could they even enforce those laws on out of state visitors and got no reply. Any insight? Does it warrant any kind of response other than the middle finger? Assuming the person is truly visiting.

I have had 3 or 4 state refs in the last 5ish years here in Los angeles. I just got my recent one dismissed couple weeks ago. Only costs you $25 (correction fee) and a quick trip to the court house (arraignment, not even a trial). Send me a PM and I’ll help you out, I’d post here but it probably violates a rule or two ;)

Been to Buellton and Solvang many many times. It’s beautiful up there. Somebody Must have got triggered by the beautiful sounding exhaust while they were drinking their daily wine breakfast.
