No you definitely can, it just has to be a Carb Legal Kit I know Vortech sells one and I’m sure Paxton does as well not sure about the other vendors. No other supporting mods either unless of course they are carb legal, meaning exhaust/headers/bigger injectors/pro tuners etc…So,............help me understand this. LOL
You cannot have forced induction in California?!?!
When I started on this website I learned a lot of knowledge about California living here. I picked the Roush CAI because it was carb legal and the stickers are all over under my hood. The tune is a different story but unless I go to a smog place nobody knows is there until I go. Everything else is legal in my car.No you definitely can, it just has to be a Carb Legal Kit I know Vortech sells one and I’m sure Paxton does as well not sure about the other vendors. Not too sure, my state no inspection, no emissions test ever.Wow.
It's the same way in MA. You have to be emissions complaint. Eventually, I see all states doing this. Hopefully not, but just a hunch.
Hey now, we are trying to stay in the shadows over hereI went down a reffed rabbit hole one day on youtube. The CA popo can ref you even if you're out of state, even if you are just visiting! It seriously is a total commie/nanny state place these days. I watch video after video of guys getting reffed for stock Mustang exhaust and the grief they had to go through to get the car CA legal again. I'm staying in Indiana where we can drive straight exhaust, no fenders and no hood, just have turn signals, headlights and a horn! smh.
My memories of Kansas....God bless KS. It's not much too look at, but man the freedom. Merica...![]()
Once spent about 3 months in Santa Rosa on a network gig, loved driving thru Napa and Sonoma, drove up and down the PCH, lots of just good folks in small towns too. I want to come back and drive the PCH from LA to past San Francisco (smell the pee!) with the convertible GT. Now I get shaky thinking I could get reffed by local PD or CHIPS, but still gonna do it someday soon.@gone_n_60 sometimes I wonder myself if it wasn’t for the smaller town I live in and my local owner operator work I have setup here I would be gone and don’t get me started on running semis here ha ha. That’s why I run catless headers here if I’m gonna get state reffed it won’t be for stock exhaust
As long as Newsome hasn't closed all the gas stations I'm coming! I have to take my gal to Hearst Castle, have dinner in Pismo Beach, get breakfast in Santa Rosa. I loved driving thru Navarro Woods too! Going south isn't bad either. Like a T-shirt I'd almost buy sez "I used to be a People Person - But People ruined it!"@gone_n_60 yea that’s a nice a stretch to cruise. Ahh it’s hard to say anymore I’ve heard a lot of stories that anything but a electric car should stay off pch but there’s some big cruise that just happened my buddy was showing me all kinds of crazy cars were cruising it.
Ah, yes. Kansas hill country. MY favorite part of the state. My memories of Kansas....![]()
It was some years back, though I got reffed in Miramar for aftermarket cat.I haven't heard of anyone getting state reffed before here in SD, but I went with a carb compliant paxton kit to pass smog due to living in CA. I swap the manifold, tune and injectors back to the carb compliant ones to pass emissions, and then back again and it only takes a few hours. I doubt most cops would even be able to tell anything is non paxton under the hood
So if this happens to me, I just swap back to stock and the ticket goes away? I am going to add a return fuel system soon
