Nice pick up...I agree with the consensus of those of us with both. Get the 350 too!

So as the title states I have given up on purchasing a GT350. Being in Southern California the ADM on these cars are ridiculous and even though I do a inventory search on Ford.com and see that there are 65 of them within 100 miles radius but dealers..... (same story) I have even looked at used ones and the price is still hovering around $58K to $60. I know I can find deals outside of CA but the passion and desire for one has dropped. Thanks to these dealers.
I had the same experience in Arizona. Instead of killing the passion it made me want to have one more. It also became kind of a game for me to see if I could get dealers to sell me one at MSRP or less.

I have shared this story on a another post here on the board but basically back in January of this year I was able to find standard GT350's for MSRP or less out of state (I found four dealers willing to do this). I bought mine for 1K below MSRP from a small dealer in Kansas. I went to Kansas because they had the exact color combo car that I was looking for (Race Red with black stripes and electronic package). If I had had trouble finding that combination car I would have gone for my second choice which was oxford white with blue stripes which I found at a small dealer in New Mexico willing to sell it to me for MSRP.

The distance to drive the car home from Kansas was about 800 miles and I decided I did not want to put that many miles on the car in one shot so I had the car shipped home in an enclosed 18 wheel trailer for $900. So in the end I basically got the car for slightly less than MSRP.

Sorry the dealers killed the GT350 experience for you and I hope you drive the wheels off the RS!

TO bad some of you guys wouldn't mine doing a little paper work
and either fly up or have it shipped.
My local dealer has 6 or 7 at MSRP and would likely
sell you one at a bit of a deal.
Same here TR, we still have 3 or 4 non-R's at the dealer, with a couple of them being MY16's... they'll end up going for 4-5K under MSRP this summer I imagine to clear stock.

Probably worth it too with how the Canadian dollar has been!

Don't get me wrong. I still love Mustangs and especially the GT350. Just because I didn't spend ADM it had nothing to do with my passion. The GT350 was not going to be a garage queen, i would of ran it hard and tracked it. I will be the only one in the RS for 80-90% of the time but those other times having the 4-doors really helps. Maybe when the GT500's get released the price of the GT350 will drop and i'll pick one up and trade in the RS. Might do some Auto X with the RS but the Panigale will see the track the most. On a side note my brother and 2 cousins have STI's so I least I can have the joy of still kicking their ass in a Ford and not having to hear them make excuses about having a V8 with the GT350.

I imagine his comment regarding a lack of passion was in reference not to your decision to not pay ADM, but rather the lack of willingness to find an MSRP deal.

There are lots of deals out there for MSRP or less and we are reading about it every day. If you didn't want to travel to get the car, then I would also agree the passion wasn't there. Liking the car and being passionate about it are two seperate things

Have fun in the RS! Pretty good deal you got!

Since you got a "deal" on the RS, flip it on a GT350.;)

Just in case someone else is watching this thread, please remember you can get a GT350 for MSRP or close to it in the midwest and get the car shipped to you for about $600. Stop lining the pockets of these SoCal dealers.

A bit harsh.......but very true....except maybe the "great cars" part......;)
They're discounted for a reason......you can still find '15 Z/28's on dealers lots.....different kind of ADM (additional dealer markdown).
Not sure how that's harsh, it would've been the next logical choice as it's the nearest competitor to the GT350. For me, there was no second choice, it was GT350 or nothing at all. The jump from a GT350 to a RS doesn't make any sense to me as they are nothing alike, discount or no discount.

There's a member here that made a website to even look em up for you...i was trying to find an avalanche/white to swap my black in on and no one was asking an ADM on any of the 350s...now the R (which i had to try for) still had the gigantic ADM so i just stopped on those.

Can't find the thread now to give the guy credit, but this is some nice work

When comparing car to car of course it doesn't make sense but when comparing fun factor to $$$ its a great substitute. Its all new to me, first hatch, first 4 banger, first turbo and first AWD. When I bought the car I really like it but after driving it for 3 days I really love the car. The one thing I do miss is that deep V8 sound but the most important part is that when I get on it and have a little fun it definitely puts a smile on my face.

Did you find the AG/White you were looking for? The dealer where I bought my R has had one for months now (at least since April):
