On a side note I also had a Toyota X-Runner 4 liter blew head gasket and it ran awesome 15 lbs. of boost turbo/Supercharged twin charged it would only loose a small amount of water. Not going into oil. So again depends where the head gasket lets go.

I think i said that it was blown rings when everyone was saying blown head gasket. For the guy asking the bent valve question,if u have a car that does blow a headgasket, depending on wheir it cracks it could let coolant into the cylinder on the compression stroke, water does not compress like air and pistions and valves start bending and breaking. To the op,sorry man and build yourself a beast this time!!!.
Twin 82"s should do it.

JH, Where are you having new engine built? Or are you buying one ready to install?
Hypermotive is building the short block.
SCP-Steve is doing all the head work.

So I got to thinking and would like yalls $.02. I'm thinking the bent rod on #2 allowed the land on the oil ring to drop below the piston wall, thus catching on the up stroke and destroying it. While the piston walls looked good I didn't pay too much attention to the bottom of the wall.

Also since oil was normal and heads don't appear to have lifted, what gives? I thought the rods were the least of my worries at 18psi?

Possible that the oil ring let go and all the oil going into above the piston caused it to hydro lock. The oil does not compress like air does so when it comes up on the compression stroke and theirs alot of oil in their the piston cannot compress if and it bends the rod or breaks the piston.

Makes sense if the oil ring let go before the bent rod on #2. But what about the other 3 less bent rods? Their rings looked ok.

One from the driver side and the other three from passenger side.

You might want to pressure test the whipple intercooler core. If it started leaking that would of caused the bent rods. I have a hard time believing you blew headgaskets on both sides to get enough water in there to hydrolock bend the rods that bad.

How much fuel do you keep in your tank when making pulls like that?

One bent rod throws the whole rotation off. Once it happens at 8k all bets are off. I believe 1 cylinder let go and the rpm and out of balance had a negative impact on everything else. If the oil and coolant look normal this is most likely the case.
