Hello there I am new to this forum but I have been searching for a couple of days trying to see if anyone has discussed the current topic of building there motor. IE replacing rods, pistons, valve springs, etc. I hope I am putting this into the correct thread so I do apologize if I have overlooked something.

This is where I am at in the stage of my build now that suspension, drive train etc has been tended too.

So I drive a 2015 Mustang GT PP my goal is a 1000hp mustang don't ask me why I just want to do it. I am going with a Whipple SC as my power adder I just need to get this motor a little stronger before I buy it.

My question is for anyone that has experience with replacing internals in the S550 what they went with, problems they ran into, anything they learned from the build.

I have been looking at MANLEY and CORILLO for pistons and rods other components MMR (which I have heard mixed feelings about) LIVERNOIS. Just trying to figure out what would be the best thing for my application.

I have already purchased COMP stage 2 cams for FI
Billet OPG and CS (I may upgrade my oil pump)

Any help would be appreciated please I don't have time for bashing just want some expertise and thoughts! :headbang::ford:

Why Whipple? You trying to get to 1000 the hard way?

Sounds like you are going to try to build the motor yourself? Have you ever done that before? If not, I suggest having a pro do it, there is more to it than slapping rod and pistons on a crank and calling it a day...

Any rate, there is a guy on here doodguy or something like that who has a whole build thread on his car and motor. Same goal you had and i think he hit it.

No I am not building the motor I have someone that is doing the work yes it is a professional. I am just wanting to hear different peoples rotating assembly choices and setups and why they chose what they chose. I have considered a lot of things but I here so many different opinions its ridiculous. I just want facts. The goal is 1000hp I have considered sleeves but have heard anything under 1500 hp there is no need and its over kill. So anyone with experience related to this would be appreciated if they chimed in. I cant find doodguy build thread looked through his stuff.

Definitely go with a sleeved motor. Manley H beams and some good pistons is probably all you'd need to hold 1000. With good hardware obviously
Op, ^^^ these guys are building my motor. Well if my pistons ever show up lol.

So several of us went for the 1000 mark with the Whipple and besides Anthony, who works for Hyper, not sure others have done it. doodguy is very close with a fully built motor. I was pushing high 8's low 9's on my stock motor until it broke. I definitely suggest head work with the motor build and cam swap. 1k RWHP Isn't easy with the Whipple.

Are you wanting 1000 crank or 1000 wheel hp? 1000hp crank is like 800-850 and people have made that on stock motors. For how long varies. Gotta have sleeves especially with a supercharger at 1000whp. If you do rods and pistons do sleeves. If no sleeves leave the motor stock in my humble opinion.

Anthony is no longer with Hypermotive:)

OP, for a sleeved motor you should go with I Beams, no reason to go with sleeves if you're going to run H beams. Also, anything over a certain HP you really need to think about custom pistons. "off the shelf" pistons really dont cut it. Wiseco does a fairly decent job with their pistons for being "off the shelf".

If you need to chat or PM back and forth on goals and whatnot, dont hesitate giving me a ring and bending my ear.

I'm actually talking with Jason@hypermotive as we speak and have been for a couple days! Time zone just sucks I'm AD Army stationed in Germany so all this is happening out here. I was hoping to get some responses from more people that have completed a project like such but I appreciate the feed back. I want 1000hp at the wheels! Corillo is what I think Jason is pushing me towards I know I beams. Just what kind of pistons should I be looking at? Anything else I should do while this is being done? This is all being done out here sleeving the block etc so I have to order all the parts for everything I need so the guy can put the motor together.

hey, I'm in Kaiserslautern but was in Wiesbaden for a very long time, who is building your engine? Most people here go to Peter Schropp

My setup makes 1100, sleeved MPR shortblock with stock crank, and a Hellion twin 62 kit. Going to be hard to get there with a whipple and you'll be on borrowed time without sleeves. Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help.
