There's a reason everyone used these in the sixties during the glory days of street racing: they just feel right.
Actually back on the 60's most everyone took the ball off and replaced it with a Hurst T - Handle unless of course you had a Mopar with the Hurst Pistol Grip shifter.

That being said I have always preferred a ball. The stock is small and doesn't feel right in my hand but I won't pay $80 for a plastic ball. Hopefully the guy that makes the rounds of the swap meets in my area will have one with the recess this spring. He typically sell knows for $25, which is more resonable.

Love that one, but it's overpriced. Hopefully someone with more reasonable pricing will make one as well because I'm not paying that much for a shift knob.
well it is only $5 more than the roush

Looks great

The reverse function works the same?

How can us common folk get a set?
I'm a common folk... I saw that they had the ones with Ford logos up on their website for the 2015s, so I called and asked if the Hurst knobs were available. The guy said no, but he could send one out to his guy to have it machined, so of course I said yes. That was 6 weeks ago (took 4 weeks to have it made), so this may be a regular item soon. I'd call them and ask.

P.S., reverse works exactly like the stock knob: pull the collar up to disengage lockout, push left and forward. Smooth, no issues.

CJ pony also sells the adapter, better price because of free shipping.

After shopping around I think I will go with these knobs with adapter instead for flexibility. Price is reasonable, right size and right weight. It is the only heavy weight composite available. The regular plastic one is too light for only 4 oz. I don't want go with full stainless because those gets extremely hot in the summer, although those can easily reach 1lbs per knob. Looks like these knobs will get best of both world, plus I like the black stealth look.

Speed Dawg Adaptor

https://speeddawg.com/shift-knob-adapters/ford-mustang-ford-focus-reverse-lockout-shift-knob-adapter

this is the adaptor. I am a little hesitate to do this because I am not sure how this will look. But I guess the good thing is you can use pretty much any universal knobs if you have the adaptor. I think they probably get bombarded with 15GT folks today and wondering what is going on lol..
Yjack, like rdycoss1 says, selecting the 2015 Mustang option gives you the recess for the reverse lockout collar. And with the adaptor under an almost perfectly round knob, I'm guessing the top of the knob will sit at least 3/4" higher than the recessed version. FYI, my new recessed 2-1/4" Hurst knob already sits 1/4" higher than the stock one. Something to keep in mind.

Yea I can see it's probably going to sit close to an inch higher since the stock knob is not exactly a round knob. I just placed an order with cj, we will see what their adapter looks like. If it works ok I will order the knob next.

Anyone seen this knob but in white with black logo/shift pattern?
White on black would be my choice, too… maybe in a year when the price comes down a bit. Till then, Hurst rules.:D

I asked them how to order the knob with recessed thread (which does not need the adapter), they again responded very quickly (impressive!):

"Just select the 12mm x 1.25 Reverse Lockout option in the “select adapter thread size” drop down box.

Thank you,
Speed Dawg Customer Service"

So I just placed my order for the Black/Yellow Rally Style knob accordingly :-)

(of course with the correct shift pattern - 6 speed, reverse upper left)...
Put up an interior pic here once you've got the new one installed…

Now all you need is matching black hood stripes. I'm still deciding whether or not to get them (translation: the wife's against them) :)

I find the extremely humorous since I contacted them back around the first of Dec. about making a white knob with the cutout and was told it's coming....
.......and I let it slip by me!

I'll be calling them today since the plain white with no logo doesn't have the menu option of the '15. Considering it's the main and probably one of two or three aftermarket options/mods I want to do, it's not that much of an investment for me.
Then again, I did see the coming window louvers on CJ's site and the photo looks great.

Not sure about the stipes. The car just looks great as it is.... Maybe later.

Tadaaam!

Just arrived today, fit&finish perfect. Note: they don't put any threadlocker into the package (luckily I had some Loctite 609 at hand)

So:

The knob is a little bigger than the factory one, feels different to touch (not worse or better, just different) and I think it looks great.
