Hello,
Hoping someone who has switched to an aftermarket knob still has their factory one around and could get me a couple of dimensions. Looking for the diameter and depth of the recess on the bottom of the knob for the reverse collar. Don't have access to mine and want to get a sample custom knob done before I get it out.
Found the thread spec and outer diameter of the ball but can't find the other two things I need in the forums. If not I'll just have to be patient.

Thanks in advance

Very basic profile, want to focus on the weight not the shape. Weighs about 375g which seems heavy to me. Brass probably isn't the best since it'll likely tarnish but it was handy and easy to machine. If I like it then will start messing around with different materials and shapes. Now just have to wait until I get the car home.

Made a couple of minor mods and am happy with the feel of the first prototype. Have to admit I didn't think I'd notice much difference but shifts when cold don't feel as clunky especially the 2-3. Next one will a tapered cylinder with stainless steel core and delrin outer sleeve. Then figure out which feels most comfortable.

I swapped out to a FRPP shift knob and I thought I was imagining things as far as feel but my experience duplicates yours. Perhaps it's the collar...
