I bought AMR winter wheels with Blizzak LM-32 snow tires and had zero problems in the snow this year with record snowfalls here in MA.

My question is, other than the PP wheels, what are really your 19 inch options as far as winter rims are concerned? I'd hate to go down to a 18 inch tire and possibly have the car even more lower to the ground.

Yes there is see if you can snag a 2013-2014 GT CA package wheels wheel's my brother has them for his 2014 v6 with pp package. I stole them from him because he was not using them :). they just fit work great in the snow I think they are 255 r19 If im right which is the same size as the front tires on the pp 2015 so they fit. Work great in the snow I got Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 Radial Tire - 255/40R19 100V. you def need snow tires well at least in NJ with the artic weather we have been getting.

you also don't need staggered just 255 all around work great that's what I have less wheel hop then with my PP wheels prob because the ground is still alittle cold here at 45 average.

Also, the skinnier the wheel the better. Don't go and pick up something like a 9.5 or 10". Stick with something under a 9" wheel if you can, 8.5" preferred all around.

Quick note, those of you who are claiming ZERO issues with winter tires while driving on decent accumulations of snow; were you driving around 15 under speed limit the entire time? I find it hard to believe that even with winter tires on a decent amount of snow that you did not get a little sideways at least ONCE. I personally, do not want to even put my baby in that situation. This is why i keep a daily driver for rainy/snowy days. Keeps the miles off the stang too. Just a thought. Plus, all that road salt/debris in the winter time?? NO THANKS.

For light snow / slush (an inch or 2) you can get by with all seasons and snow mode for short jaunts around town or even some local highway driving at moderate speeds. I was pleasantly surprised how well it did. BUT - Anything beyond that you def want winter tires.

I'm planning on getting a 2015 GT PP very soon, but I'm contemplating whether I should keep my current car for winter driving or not. I would much rather DD the Mustang year round. I know there's a snow mode, but I'm also curious which tires you guys used this winter and how everything worked out for you.
I'm keeping a second car (beater) with dedicated snow tires. It works out.

Yea of course a little side ways but I had a Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 before this car :barf: and that was RWD and horrible in the snow I drove side ways all winter loll. But this car handled well I don't have a second car this is my DD so I drove it all winter handled well. I also live in NJ and we got hit pretty bad I have to go into work no matter what. if you know how to drive a rear wheel drive car. The car does a lot of the work for you with the winter mode. I just hate the throttle cut so I usually start in normal mode then put it back into snow mode once i'm at speed.

I was pretty disappointed with the performance in the snow but I've never had a RWD car before its been FWD and AWD previously. I have an Ecoboost with the standard all seasons on it. The car seemed to handle fine while driving and in turns but getting it moving from a stop in the snow was a pain with the back end always wanting to go sideways. I actually didn't use snow mode that much because I felt it was more predictable in normal mode. I brought it skiing one time and they plowed the lot behind me so there was a mound of snow maybe 3 inches high and I couldn't get enough traction to back out over it. I was going to get a set of snow tires but decided on just getting a beater. I picked up a 96 Explorer for 2k vs snow tires and wheels for 1k. Figure I'll get more use out of the explorer with the dogs and home depot runs as well.

When there was no snow, and no salt on the road, those nice 54 degree winter days I had her out were great! Then we got 4 feet of snow dumped on us over the course of about 2 weeks. In that weather my F-250LD 4x4 did great, and the ol' Mustang looked amazing in the garage each morning... It's almost cheaper to get an old 4x4 than winter tires + rims, while giving you the flexibility of a truck.

Yea it seems crazy but snow tires did make a world of difference good investment though for 2k cant beat it to have a second car. for me its to put insurance on another car is expensive in NJ

Yes, you have to weigh all of the odds of getting a second vehicle. For me, insurance was cheap, i got the SUV for under market value and in good shape. 4x4 mode when i need it, plenty of space to haul the dogs/mulch/groceries/etc. Plus, like i said, it keeps the miles and wear down on the Stang. Which, in my book, was well worth the investment of the second vehicle.

make sure you put it in wet/ice mode also it makes a huge difference,
you can not eben do a doughnut in the snow with this set on, even dumping the clutch in first gear it barely spins.
