I've done a lot of work with supercharged cars but this is the first time working with a turbo. I'm under the impression that tuning not only changes the fuel and ignition curves, it also increases boost. If this is the case, what is the stock boost level and what is it usually increased to? And is there any other way to change the boost level? Some cars use controllers. Just turn the dial to get what you want.

Also, when it comes to waste gates, what is recommended for an engine with just bolt ons? The listings I've seen showed either a 7psi or a 10psi spring. I know the spring pressure is the lowest boost level the motor can reach. Talk to me about it.

Thanks!

my 2018 EB 201A hits up to 21 psi on over boost. It only happens on beautiful days with one occupant in the vehicle. normally, it hits no more than 18-19 psi.

(Stock EB with only a K&N replacement air filter & an SR Performance throttle body spacer, same numbers before and after the mild mods)

There is an electronic boost controller, I get up to 28psi on the NX2 turbo tuned, but I got about that with the turbosmart 10pai wastegate and a tune before too.

The aftermarket wastegate are smoother in operation is how I understand it so give a better boost curve.
