So I bought a MMR tool that was advertised as a flywheel lock for the bolt removal however it doesn’t work for flywheel bolts. What is everyone using to hold the flywheel why you break the bolts loose?

Go on Amazon and search for a flywheel turning tool. Looks like this:

The MMR tool should work if you remove the starter.

Tool bolts to bellhousing. Bellhousing has to be removed to remove flywheel hardware.

Tool posted above is needed.

You’re right. I didn’t even catch that until now. Looks like I just bought one of these 2 weeks ago for nothing.

i actually bought that tool and ran into the same problem. It will only work for trying to unbolt the balancer. I actually did a review on YouTube letting people know that. Oh well.

You can use it to hold the flywheel to tighten torque converter and or harmonic balancer bolt!

Really no tool needed to break flywheel bolts loose, just hit em with an impact.

I guess I’ll throw it in the toolbox and let it sit unless I need to remove the balancer bolt for some reason. SMH
