You know I'm kind of quickly arriving at a "FU Ford" attitude. I know it's a bit early in the process to get there. But here's how I'm seeing it. This "limited production" nonsense is getting under my skin, combined with the fact that you get a different story from each dealer. Bottom line is Ford has developed an interesting vehicle and is going through all the marketing motions to get the news out there, only to tell many fans, enthusiasts and even loyal customers "You wont' be able to get it" or worse "Our dealers are going to bend you over the order desk." I don't get it and I don't like having my emotions toyed with. In the past I've sat on the sidelines and watched the "Limited production" circus with some amusement. I'm not laughing this time and it could cost Ford a loyal customer if I walk away with tears in my eyes. :frusty:
Unfortunately Ford motor company does not control the tactics of its dealerships.

The only thing they can do to be very helpful, would to announce a more firm production numbers so buyers can call BS on dealers trying to play the "very limited production" card to fear-monger and drive up prices

And maybe the biggest problem is potential buyers getting overly aggressive and having unrealistic expectations before a vehicle is even certified and legally for sale.

Yes, which is why I said "...I know it's a bit early in the process to get there."

Funny, I was just listening to that old Cello Green song, here's my new modified lyrics...

o/~ I see you driving 'round town in the car I love, and I'm like, F**K YOU o/~
o/~ I guess the change in my pocket wasn't enough, and I'm like, F**K YOU, and F**K FORD TOO o/~

Anyway, I'm just in the early planning stages of what my crappy attitude will be should I not land a car. :)

Hi guys . Here's my true story.

I ordered a R model for 5k over from dealer A.

I had a deal with a dealer B at msrp. I was very close and tight with this dealer. I approached them in January about the car and we talked and agreed I buy one as soon as I could. So spending months with this dealership with business, It is time, and when the price came out and to this day, they went back on there word and still have not given me a price. Say sorry Davey were going to charge the extra. We have xx .people in line behind you. So this pissed me off to no end and I started to search for a R car. Well that was pretty slim as not many of the dealers were even getting the car. By the way my friend / dealer was getting 2 Rs. So I went to the closest dealer to me, and they were getting one and it could be ordered the way I wanted. So I went in with money in hand for a deal at msrp and they wanted more but tried to work with me and do what they can. They were 7000 over. So I thought that wasn't bad to start off with but left saying it was to much. I called back the next day and offered the 5 over and they wanted the business.

So what im getting at is I was pissed and want a little revenge against dealer A / friend. So that's worth part of the 5k and I will be getting an R this year, not in the near or far future, I ordered what I wanted, and truthfully ,most dealers I talked to were not getting the car, or for the R were going to try 15-20k , highest bidder game. So I bit the bullet and paid.

Now if I waited, would I go through the same thing for an R next allocation or what. Nobody really knows. Now I know I will get the car as soon as its produced and if production ramps up so be it. If not I have an R.

I do not believe the regular 350 should be classified like this and sticker should be max. I believe they will be msrp and production ramp up in the future. I could have bought the 350 at sticker, I just wanted to be a little more exclusive with the more rare car.

Back to the pole, I think the R should be separate being more limited.

+1. Delete the poll and make the next one public so you can see who voted for what. No way that many people have gotten under MSRP deals based on the threads being posted in here.
Haha I thought about being a troll and fudging the results too lol. Just a silly poll imho. "Lets see how bad the stealership f***ed me" lol Nobodys paying under MSRP for this car unless they own a dealership that got one.

The dealership I talked to said to me that they sold every one of their Boss 302s over MSRP. They also said they are getting 1 Ford GT and it will probably go for more than double Ford's MSRP.

I guess, you're a business. If I owned the business I might not leave that much money on the table either. I understand if 10 people want a car - basically you're in an auction situation.

Count me out of that. I'll buy a 'vette at sticker before I pay a huge markup just to line some rich guy's pockets. Right now I'm in a situation where I have a very new car and I can wait a year or two and see what happens.

Nothing's stopping any of you from making your own poll. Feel free. I know lots of people lie on the internet. You can lie about how much you paid for a car to your wife and friends, for that matter. No one's going to prevent you from doing any of that.

Can you send me your wife's e-mail so I can lie to her about how much I paid? :)

BTW, join a credit union so you can get GM Supplier pricing, and you'll buy the C7 at dealer invoice.

Yes, since we all know that dealerships are full of nothing but upfront and honest folks.

What dealers ask, what dealers get, and what dealers say they got are likely 3 different numbers.

Of course they will pick the highest of the 3 to try to boost their profits. years ago when I was shopping for an evolution IX, the guy told me it had 4 intercoolers and 2 radiators, that didnt make it true

MSRP here. I bought late December and I was about to walk on 10K ADM. The best I can guess from speaking with some friends who work in the industry is that future allotments are based on past sales performance. I figured that I got the deal I did because it was end of year. Does anyone know how the system works?

Worked out an MSRP deal in late June when I ordered. As bad as my delivery experience was they did honor the price.
