How many miles a year is too many for a blown 2021 GT

My car is currently NA but I'm considering installing a blower, but I also drive 22,000 miles a year.
Most of those miles are driven non-stop between 70-80mph on an highway, so there is very little stop and go.

Given the amount of miles I drive each year, should I be concerned about having a blower installed, or can the powertrain take it?
And with all things considered, would a turbo or supercharger be preferred in regards to reliability with the amount of miles driven?
The car is also a 6speed if that matters.

Thank you kindly

You might consider buying a cheap econobox to put the miles on. Then you can beat on the mustang without fear of not having transportation.

A good s/c with a very good air filter set up a head of it, that filters out all the dust/dirt before it can get to the rotors will last a long while, BUT that said, the seals do wear , and air leaks around the rotors means less boost and more heat.
They have to be serviced like any other moving part.
More h/p from boost = more stress on all the parts in the engine and everything behind it till the tires.
22k is a tall order for an aftermarket s/c kit to last without needing to be serviced and checked for wear.
If you do this, best thing you can do, is keep the air filter clean so no dust, etc can get to the rotors.
Turbo's cook parts underhood if the set up is not designed for long term, high use. The higher the load, the more heat put into the snail .
I'd get a cheap econobox if you drive that much and plan on either type of boost.

I drive 22k a year as well. Can't help you with longevity yet but I installed my hellion kit at the beginning of March. Had 48.5k miles on the car when I installed it and now I'm at 61.5k with no issues. I drive it pretty hard all the time so I kept the boost low for now. Roughly 600hp. I want to up it but I do drive a lot and it seems really happy at the hp level in at so I'm torn. For a daily I liked the idea of turbos... less stress on the crank, less parasitic loss so lower boost is ok plus great gas mileage on the highway still. I do about a 30/70 split city/ highway. And I average 19 mpgs per tank, calculated not off the gauge. It's a wildly fun car.

If your super concerned with racing or being the fasted guy out there a pd blower would help since your manual too. Cant beat instant torque! The turbos do need a second to build boost but the lag is minor and once it's moving its like a freight train. I know there's faster guys out there than me since I'm running twins with low boost and a manual but so far everyone who had tried to beat me has failed! Lol

Ask me next year and I'll report back on longevity. Hopefully good results...

Got you beat i average 30k/year. Just go with one of the big names, donā€™t abuse it and it will last a long time. Especially highway miles thatā€™s what I also do. Thereā€™s nothing better than walking out after work and cranking up 700+ hp to drive home everyday.

I used to drive about the same mileage pre-covid and my Toyota Camry developed nasty gearbox shifts kick by around 100k miles. I surely didn't boost it and it was all highway mileage. One would think that it was supposed to last forever. I traded it for the mustang and slapped roush blower on top of it with zero regrets šŸ˜„ .

Now I work remotely, but even if I had to drive it enough to when it starts failing after 5 years, at least that would be some good fun time. Having said that, I would still consider a second car because of fuel costs more than anything else (exposure to salt in winter being another reason). Even though mpg is amazing for 750hp car, paying for 94 fuel is still steep. I want to keep this mustang for a long time, so having a daily beater would make sense to me.

I think you just have to take a chance, but you will be happy with it's boosted while it last. there is a post "thank you hellion" , the member just installed TT from Hellion with only 7psi and the motor is blown now at 21k miles. I don't think the member got to drive it more than a 1000 miles yet.

Seriously consider buying something that gets 35-40mpg with that kind of driving. I drive 17-19K a year commuting in my 2017 Corolla, and it costs me under $1400.00 per YEAR in fuel.

Ford warrants the GT500 for 60,000 miles.

Buy a quality kit and drive the shit out of it.

I'd give Terry a call, Beefcake, he sells many of these.

I will add to this as well...

Buy a good kit and drive it. Enjoy it. Thereā€™s MANY supercharged cars out there using roots style blowers right from the factory with no warranty concerns or issues. Hell my brotherā€™s F-Pace R is supercharged and that thing gets miles put on! I honestly canā€™t see having issues with the blower or motor commuting on the highway regardless of miles.
I hear you on the 94 in Ontario! Paid $1.88 per litre (~ $7 gallon) today!

22k is a bit, but ships aren't built for harbors. I know many people have concerns with warranty and longevity, but I bought my car to enjoy. Blower was on at around 2k. If a daily maybe get something else. I've always been a proponent of having a none daily for the race car after having issues with the race car when it was the only car.

pfft more like not even 500miles yet. Though it is getting looked at and it is unknown what the cause was. Even though it is having problems, I cannot stress enough how cool the Blow-off sound is and how awesomely loud the exhaust is when the waste gates open. I am a little older and I didnt want obnoxiously loud exhaust all the time. I love that I have obnoxiously loud exhaust only when I am on it hard. I putted around in it for a week before I found out the #7 and #8 cylinder were down 20% and except for the intercooler, you would have no idea it is twin turbo.
Still happy I got a TT kit. it doesnt really make boost until 3500 - 4k rpm and with a ten speed I can be rolling 90mph out of boost.
I aint mad, if it has to be rebuilt its going to be a shit load more than 660whp.
