I have a 2017 PP GT, have had this car for 14 months, car has 260 miles on the clock
I upgraded the suspension and exhaust, on my occasional Sunday drives it handles fantastic and sounds great, is it the fastest? no, Is it fast enough? For sure, most People on here probably could never push these cars to its limits
would I trade for an 18? Probably not, I'm sure the 18 with auto is a fantastic car ( I just like and prefer the standard IMO, and as far as the
Looks of 17 vs 18 to me both are nice, some positives and negatives for each year
Now if I were to trade for another ford I would look to get into a 350gt and for another make probably a corvette grand sport, to me trading a 17 GT PP premium for a similar 18 is not worth the cash

I absolutely love my 17 GT with Roush Phase 2 with 6spd Manual and wouldn’t switch. When I bought it I wrestled with getting a 18 with the 10spd auto and came close to going that way but couldn’t. I actually like the look of the 15-17 over the 18 but it’s all personal preference.

I went from a '16 base GT with PP to a loaded '16 Challenger Scat Pack Shaker to an '18 GT Premium with PP. All manuals.

The '16 was a really good car. Loved the 392 torque. The '18 might be a great car. Need more seat time!

No switch here. I'm perfectly happy with my 16 GT. It was a good car when I bought it and it's a good car now. It's modded the way I like it and I'm not spending anymore money to get a little extra speed when I could pay this car off instead. At some point you have to reach contentment or you'll never be happy, always chasing the next upgrade.

I'm tempted but just don't want to spent another $15-20k to go from a really nice 2015 to a 2019.

2018 Silver Mustang PP1 Manual (former 2015 GT Auto)
2015 auto premium GT to 2018 PP1/Magneride/Manual/Active Exhaust.

2015 had an air box with a tune. Even with the tune on the '15, the '18 feels like it has a lot more pull going through 2nd/3rd/4th gear. The 2018 with the PP1 and Magneride just feels so much more planted to the ground. '15 had some bounce to it and I really noticed bumps in the road. With the '18, you still know you hit a bump, but the car handles them so much better and smoothly. 3.73s feel a little short at times in traffic, but running WOT in open space makes up for it. Love the cloth seats vs. the leather.

As for the front, I love the lower nose, gives the car a more aggressive look IMO. The pocket scoops actually look great from the front, but they do seem a little excessive looking at it from the side, especially on a ligher-colored car (ingot silver). After I got my satin-black stripes, I'm thinking of adding a small triangular piece of vinyl into those areas to sort of break it up. Would also like to paint the spoiler satin black (they went a little overboard with the size of that thing).

The lack of being able to change your SYNC wallpaper sucks, I had a nice set of custom ones I rotated through on the 2015.

Helps that I got the 2018 almost 4k cheaper than the 2015.

I went from a 15gt prem to an 18 -remember, 18 is better in every way. The handling improvements are clearly noticable, both my cars were non pp. the 18 stock is as fast as my 15 with headers and tune. The a10 tranny improvement over the old a6 alone made the 18 worth the upgrade. It is the best transmission I have ever driven. I also love the active exhaust. While not as loud as my catted headers and Cora’s sport, it gives me the option to be loud when I want to be and quiet when I so desire.

Can somebody clarify something for me please?

Are the Cruise Control buttons on the RHS or LHS?

Pic would be awesome.

Thanks
My 17 has the Cruse Control button on the LHS. I think the '18 is the same from what I have seen on the cars I am looking at online. I wish it was on the right.

I considering trading my '17 GT base for a '18 base.

Going to drive one soon but I know I will like the '18 better.

This will be my 8th new car in 3 years. I've got to find something I like and stop trading.

The legitimately better performance of the 18/19MY has me thinking about upgrading from my 17MY, but I just do not like two aesthetic elements in the refreshed version:
1) The front end, especially the headlamps -- it has been discussed ad nauseam, but I just like the look of the 15-17MY version better
2) The GT hood vents in the 18/19MY look "tacked on" to me, almost like those fake ass vents people used to put on the 15-17MY EBs and V6s. They looked *way* better in the 15-17MY GTs IMHO.

For me the looks are kind of a wash, like the S550.1, like the S550.2 for different reasons. Clearly, the MY18+ cars are better in several regards, even if some of the improvements are options (and increase the "all options" price quite a bit). All that being said, for me, it would feel like a bit of a lateral move, a better/faster (stock v. stock) sure, but in a manual, just another Mustang.

The one thing that would be a legit motivator to change would be going from my manual to the A10, which would give us much better options for vehicle use (wife doesn't drive a stick, and I occasionally want to use the DDRT). However, if I made the change, I just feel like a MY18+ isn't the direction I'd go with a $50K+ purchase ... might have to give _something_else_ a look ...

Financially, it makes 0 sense for me to upgrade no matter how much performance they offer in the 18/19.

This.

I'd really like a new Bullitt, but the cost to do so over my paid-off and modded '15 is laughably prohibitive. :cwl:

Proud owner of a 2015 RR PP GT...Lund tune, Steeda CAI, Corsa Headers and exhaust. No upgrade desire until model completely changes. When that happens I'll hop on the wagon...
