How many of the people trashing bags ever ridden in a car with them?

My car is bagged and after many years of modding cars and having all kinds of suspension setups. Bags would be my first choice again, unless I was building a full blown track or drag racer.

Every one has a different opinion of what the perfect height should be. Guess what, bags could be set to that height on the fly. That is what makes them so great. You can change the height based on your mood.

Almost every picture you see online of a bagged car is when they are air'd out and not moving. That is how I take pics of my car, but I never drive it that low. In fact, I drive it closer to stock height so I don't have to worry about slamming on my brakes because I need to creep over a driveway or something in the road and risking other peoples safety.

And as far as ride quality. It doesn't matter what height you have it at. The ride quality never changes. It is one of the most comfortable rides I have been in besides a high-end luxury car. I don't have to cringe every time I hit something in the road like I used to with a coilover set up or lowered springs.

Stanced cars with the wheels all sideways is the stupidest thing I have seen and would never do that to my car. In fact, I have yet to see a mustang on bags look that way. So, not all bagged cars are wanna-be gangsters.

Not everyone is going to agree on what looks the best on a modded car. But the reasons people give for disliking bags is easily fixable having bags.

Here is my rice mobile and I would never drive it this low.

And if you saw this coming at you with the Corsa Extreme singing it's beautiful song. Ricer would probably not be the first thing that comes to mind.

See that's the difference.. your car looks really good but to me, is it really the best look for the Stang parked/driving?

Other cars I would def consider it but the GT is all about performance to me (as one day I'm going to mod) and I think having a performance muscle car with that bagged image just doesn't fit. If I had a regular 5 series, Audi, G35 that I'm just going to cruze and look good in.. I think it will fit that image better.

To each of their own though and I will say your car looks good and if that's the look you like, stick to it.

A performance drop of 1-1.2" is perfect for me for these cars.

When I had my bagged Dodge dually people always said I "ruined" it and that you cant tow with a bagged truck. Really? Because I know many people who tow with duallies, and theyre bagged, and on 24 inch Semi wheels...and not just small loads, big tri-axle trailers with multiple vehicles in it....boats, and not just run of the mill bass boats...BIG boats....
OR they see a laid out street rod on air and its ok for that to be bagged, but not the car or truck next to that because of this or that....Some people just dont know the facts and jump to whatever conclusion they feel like...Its easier for them to do that than actually do research on it before blurting out their thoughts...

Not picking on you at all but you bring up good points so I chose to use your post to respond.

What you state is why I think modern day, not the old hydraulics found on lowriders from the 90's is why they are the perfect setup for anything but hardcore race cars.

You do not float down the road like a boat, they are stiff like a good coilover set-uo without the jarring hard impacts. I can make it whatever height I want it to be from +5" inches to not derivable.

I am not limited to what a manufacturer thinks is the perfect height. If I want 1 - 1.2 inch drop I can do that. I might think a 1.4 inch drop is even better, just a tap of a button. Maybe I want more of a rake look today, just another tap of a button.

The choices are endless and I love having that flexibility. I get bored with a look pretty quickly and being able to tap a button without having to rip out the suspension every time I want a change is priceless to me.

You really should take a ride in a properly installed bagged car. I think you will be surprised at the level of performance they offer.

Well said.

Even if we have different opinions in terms of what looks good for the Mustang and in your case, you can have any look you want.. That is badass for sure.

If you were closer. I would let you take it for a spin. Not saying it would make you want to rush out and get them yourself, but I think you would have a better understanding of not only what they offer look wise but also performance wise and be surprised.

A lotta people drive slammed here. My cars on bags so living in cali is easy. You get that aggressive stance when parked but you dont have to worry about dips

BMR's Performance "SP080" springs are the perfect height, in my opinion.

Daily Driver Mustang GT: I plan on running the SP080 Performance Springs on OEM dampeners.
When the OEM dampeners wear out, I'll install a set of Bilstein HD dampeners.

IMO, DD's are where bags shine. I can tuck tires and never have to worry about a steep driveway or speed bump again all at the same time. My bags have really saved my APR splitter big time. It's also nice to air all the way up in the garage to fit a floor jack under it without using ramps. The positive outcomes are endless lol.
Lol this actually makes sense. I know bags have come along way since they first became popular. I remember riding in a bagged s10, 12 years ago and the ride was the absolute worst and the compressor was noisy as hell! I might need to ride in someones bagged s550 to really get a feel for it.

That is the magic of the car world you can build your car the way you like it. The very first picture of the white Mustang is the standard lowering height of majority of the springs out there. I am running the Eibach pro springs and my car sits at that height which to me is the perfect height.
