8 years ago, I was around import guys.. I had a G35, lowered it where I can barely fit a finger between the tire and the fender. Sure it looked nice but I will always remembered:

A 2008 black Shelby GT500 roaring past us. It wasn't lowered no lower than an inch at most. Big bad V8, deep exhaust and would have more than likely smoked us all. I look around at the Civics, G35's, 350z's, etc.. and it was that moment.. I felt like a ricer.

We ALL had respect for the Shelby, the V8 and that raw powerful look. We just said, damn that thing looks MEAN!

Thinking back, if that same Shelby rolled by us slammed, bouncing around like one of us.. I know I would have a different perspective.

My point is and this is just my opinion.. the glory, personality of the Mustang is a roaring V8 muscle car. To see that same muscle car dropped to the ground like the imports is well, just not my style..

I don't understand the appeal. Perhaps I'm just an old luddite, but the stock height seems to be JUST high enough to avoid me scraping the chucks at the end of parking spaces and prevent me from bottoming out on driveways.

This whole urban fascination with bagging cars and having them a c-hair off the ground has me scratching my head. I think it looks foolish.

But hey...to each his own. I also won't wear my hat sideways or have my pants hanging off my ass while blasting F the POHleece on the horribly mistuned audio system designed to vibrate the body panels of nearby vehicles. Sometimes I think this country is just circling the drain....
I don't wear a sideways hat with sagging pants and vibrating body panels either, but my car will be bagged soon. :headbonk::thumbsup:

If you have this much camber. It's probably to low.

When I say passed on from ricers, I'm talking about the more extreme spectrum. Unless you see a lot of 66 Mustangs like below:

You realize that "style" was adopted from people trying to get the racecar look on their street cars. That's where the influence came from. And just like any trend on modifying cars, there are groups that will take it to the extreme. We've all seen the Mustangs/Camaro's with 26in wheels and lambo doors, etc. Hotrods became ratrods, etc. Some people think "being different" is a good thing, no matter what.

I think 1 inch in the back and 1.25 inch in the front is perfect.

I'd agree until I see stretched tires. Then it's not even about being too low they are just trying to look ridiculous.

IMO I like the wheel and height to be adjusted so that there is an equal gap most of the way around, I don't like when there is 2-3 inches in the front and back but you can't even fit a finger in at the top of the tire.

How many of the people trashing bags ever ridden in a car with them?

My car is bagged and after many years of modding cars and having all kinds of suspension setups. Bags would be my first choice again, unless I was building a full blown track or drag racer.

Every one has a different opinion of what the perfect height should be. Guess what, bags could be set to that height on the fly. That is what makes them so great. You can change the height based on your mood.

Almost every picture you see online of a bagged car is when they are air'd out and not moving. That is how I take pics of my car, but I never drive it that low. In fact, I drive it closer to stock height so I don't have to worry about slamming on my brakes because I need to creep over a driveway or something in the road and risking other peoples safety.

And as far as ride quality. It doesn't matter what height you have it at. The ride quality never changes. It is one of the most comfortable rides I have been in besides a high-end luxury car. I don't have to cringe every time I hit something in the road like I used to with a coilover set up or lowered springs.

Stanced cars with the wheels all sideways is the stupidest thing I have seen and would never do that to my car. In fact, I have yet to see a mustang on bags look that way. So, not all bagged cars are wanna-be gangsters.

Not everyone is going to agree on what looks the best on a modded car. But the reasons people give for disliking bags is easily fixable having bags.

Here is my rice mobile and I would never drive it this low.

And if you saw this coming at you with the Corsa Extreme singing it's beautiful song. Ricer would probably not be the first thing that comes to mind.

running BMR SP089/SP082 springs which drop only .8"F and .5" rear. More like it dropped .75" rear but nice tasteful drop without the slammed look

I just don't get the appeal for tucking the tire/wheel into the fender. Looks broken.

I would like a setup that would allow me to say, go from stock ride height to ~1" drop or a little less on the fly for performance & looks, and back to stock height for curbs/winter, etc. I autocross and will be tracking the car once or twice a year, but it's also my DD, so a compromise must be made so it's livable for 98% of the time I'm in it, but good enough performance setup so it's me who's holding it back.
