I am wondering if I have a drain issue. With COVID, I have not driven my car much and so it can often sit for a few weeks.

How long have you gone without needing to run a battery charger?

I think I can go about 3 weeks and the car will just barely turn over. If I go much longer, it will not have the juice to start.

Let me know your battery experiences.

Thanks
Frank

If its the factory battery, it is a POS.
That said, I replaced mine with an AGM, and after 3 weeks of non use, the battery is at 60% charge.
Started fine, but I pulled it to give it a nice deep charge.

I would suggest using a ctek tender/charger. They are incredible.

Highly depends on temperature. In the winter, 3 weeks is alot and I would not be surprised if it's dead or hard to turn over after that much time.

In the summer or climate controlled storage, 3 weeks should be ok but you will definitely notice a bit more of a struggle to start than after 1 day for example.

However as the previous user noted, the OEM battery is junk so it's going to be affected even more than a high quality one.

Based upon 2 different Mustang going through 4 total factory batteries.
Both replaced under warranty and failing again.
They are underpowered and why oh why flooded lead acid??????

I wouldn't say the factory battery is junk. Mine lasted over 4 years before being replaced. That being said, cold temperatures definitely impact the CCA available, especially if you are not keeping the battery charged.

To have that many failures point to a maintenance/usage issue

I have a 2020 Mustang GT. The longest I have gone without starting the battery was two days, and the car is kept outside with no battery tender. From what I have noticed with the recent colder temps in NJ, the car can take 2 to 3 seconds before it fires up on the first start-up of the day.
I have read on here that guys that have left their car for as little as a week, have come back to dead batteries.

My experience is very different. I used to live in Michigan's upper peninsula. I had years where I didn't start or charge the car for several months with no issue. The key is to disconnect the battery if you are going to store it for a month or more. However, if the battery does not have a good charge, it can freeze and then it is toast.

Just take the + cable off. 10mm and 2 minutes later off or on.

It's winter now but I try and drive my car at least once a week, mainly just to run it. I have winter tires. I've been noticing lately that it has a hard time starting up in the garage. Today, I took it to the grocery store and unfortunately it would not start when I got back in the car after shopping. Had to get a jump. Gonna look into getting a battery tender now.

I got my car new in March 2020 and replaced my first battery in November 2020 under warranty. Spring 2021 the battery was dead after 2 weeks. But when I say dead, I mean nothing, no power. The car wouldn't open the locks. Called the dealership, they told me that they can replace it and it will be the same batter as last time + they would have to tow the car to the dealership since it wouldn't hold any power (jump start etc. did not work, nor charging it)
I would rather get my balls shaved by a blind hooker in Hoboken than get my car towed for a battery replacement. Bought an AGM and fine ever since.

I own a 2021 gt and it is in winter storage . I have the ford pass app and I am getting the occasional message that the car is in sleep mode . I try to get to my car and start it . So far the car has started every time. I hope it keeps working

I didn't even get the message the second time. Woke up early on a Sunday, wanted to go to Cars and Coffee and nothing... no power.
