Something's definitely wrong. It should go all the way to the pillar.
Good to know you all think something is wrong.
I was scared this is so by poor design.
At least I have a hope now that it can be solved.

It might help people give you help if you post a photo of the wipers in their parked position.
Have they always been that way or is it something new?
My first thought was it looks like someone removed that arm and didn't reinstall it correctly.

Did someone swap the two arms by accident?
I thought of this too. But the current drivers side blade is very close to the roof. If they were reversed it would make this even worse. By the way blade sizes are 22” driver & 20“ passenger.

Interesting. Maybe the wiper sizes changed on 18-up. I know 15-17 is 21 and 19. My bad if they changed. Regardless, something is wrong with OP’s setup. Like others have mentioned, my driver side wipes all the way, almost vertical about 2” from pillar.

It might help people give you help if you post a photo of the wipers in their parked position.
The car is covered and in winter sleeping in detached garage.
I can make some pictures not before the weekend.
Till then, here is what I have in albums:

On the delivery check I have noticed very small scratches on the arms. I forgot on which one. Maybe on both. So your theory might be the right one.

my drivers side wiper is parked ABOVE the passenger side wiper when in the down position on my 2016. I know that because when I wash the car or windshied, I have to carefully move it when moving it past the pass wiper, so I dont scrape the pass wiper metal arm.

Looking at the second photo the driver side wiper appears to be out of position. It looks too low to me.

On my 18, the driver blade parks above the passenger blade. I believe it supports my theory that it has been removed and incorrectly reinstalled.

From the pictures:
Your driver's side blade rests almost on the edge of black glass area.
Mine rests a bit lower.
This supports your theory.

This is how my wipers looks at rest:

IMG_1100.jpg

The driver's side wiper goes up to the line indicated by the red arrows:

IMG_1101.jpg

The morning dew made it clear where the line was (somehow there was a bit more of it past that line), but my phone couldn't capture it very well. But it's right there, where the arrows are.

So I was wrong when I said it went all the way to the pillar. It doesn't actually. But, as you can see, the line is past the edge of the interior A pillar trim, which means that from inside the car it looks as if it were going all the way to the pillar. For all intents and purposes it's as if it were.

Might sound silly and not help..but its a simple check.

On the attachment point of the drivers side wiper..remove the rubber grommet covering the nut and make sure the nut isnt slightly loose? Make sure its torqued to spec. Mine was slightly loose before and behaved in a similar manner.
