I’ve been looking at full 3” exhaust systems and I found a set on Facebook Marketplace where a guy is selling a a full 3” Hooker Blackheart exhaust, headers and catback (the version with mufflers) with 2,000 miles on them and at a very reasonable price. Does anyone have exhaust clips from the headers or catback, or preferably both, or personal experience, as it seems Hooker is not very prevalent in the S550 world. Thanks.

I found this clip for Gt350 cat back.

The headers on the full system are a plus . Are you looking for sound or performance?

I’m looking mainly for performance but sound is also a pretty big factor as well. I have plans for forced induction and figured I might as well go full 3” to maximize power from the exhaust. I’m okay with it being fairly loud, actually I’d rather it be fairly loud, but if it’s not enough/too much I can just add an exhaust cutout to bypass the muffler or exhaust valve to control some of the volume.

Three inch is the way to go.personally I prefer Corsa or Borla but if you get a good deal on the used Hooker system you could get the headers and add your own mufflers later. Lots of info here on exhaust valve cut out Install.

I second being a fan of Borla. Right now I have a Borla ATAK catback with gutted cats and some vibrant resonators. Just not a huge fan of the tone now, so it’s a good time to switch from a 2.5” system I don’t really like to a full 3” system. However when all I had was the ATAK catback, the tone was awesome. Would definitely recommend Borla to anybody, but I just don’t want to spend even more money on exhaust than I have too haha. Hopefully these Blackheart headers and catback will put me in a good place. I’ve read some of the threads on the forum about the quality of their exhaust and it seems pretty good. Excited to see what it actually does end up sounding like haha.

I enjoy Thermal R&D catback & paired with headers sounds great too.

I’m running this catback now and it’s definitely grown on me. Did you install headers later? I’m curious how much louder it’ll be, I love the drone free highway cruise right now

If you're catted, it will be excellent. Catless may be a little too loud for some. I like both versions for what they are.

Well. Went and got the full Blackheart exhaust. Got a free tuner with it, made the two hours each way trip worth it haha. Here’s some pictures of the exhaust in the garage. Hopefully will be able to install soon and post some clips.

6-8 hours of work and you’ll be back on the road in no time! Please post a video of it after installation. I never get tired of hearing a Mustang with a full exhaust. Will you be tuning on E85?

Will do! I’ve been excited about this for a while now. And no I more than likely will never do E85. I would love to but this is my daily and I have to be able to fill up at most gas stations and all. Plus the smell of no cats and 93 doesn’t get into the cabin unless I come to a complete stop so I’m not too worried about it.

Flex tune allows to fill up on e85 whenever you want while still using 93 the rest of the time. Just a thought, but I am curious how this exhaust setup will sound
