We got the chance to recently test out the Hooker Blackheart Exhaust for the Ecoboost Mustang and we really liked what we got with that exhaust, so we decided to give it a try on our shop GT.

We opted for the complete exhaust including the Longtube Headers with their Headerback 3in Catback Exhaust(X-Pipe). The quality of the parts was fantastic as we had already seen with the Ecoboost Exhaust. Everything was 304 Stainless Steel, very clean and nice looking. The headers were 1-7/8" Primaries with a 3in Collectors with Merge Spears. The Catback is also 304SS and is 3in Mandrel Bent with Polished Mufflers and 4in Intercooled Polished Tips. One thing to note about the Catback is the size of the Hangers. WOW, these Hangers are BIG, the exhaust definitely won't be doing much moving due to hanging weight. They are a pain if they need to be slightly adjusted but we'll take that over a weak hanger any day.

Installation was fairly straight forward. All clamps, sensor extensions and hardware is included from Hooker. The K-member does not have to be removed for the header installation, but the install is more comfortable to do without the k-member in the way if you have a lift. The catback installs just as any other catback would, all the bends are precise and clearance is not an issue anywhere. We would suggest leaving all the clamps loose until the very end so you can align the exhaust as needed.

Note: This system deletes your rear O2 Sensors, so you will have to store those away if you ever decide to go back to stock.

As far as sound the exhaust sounds great. Its can be heard, but it is not obnoxiously loud.Inside the cabin there is no drone at any cruising speed. Very deep tone, this is the system with mufflers(Optional Muffler Delete) and its very enjoyable. We have only had it on for about 300 miles, but so far its sounds great and we don't expect that to change. We are once again very happy with the Blackheart Line. I would classify this as a moderately loud exhaust when the paired with Longtubes or Cat Deletes.

Aside from the Hooker Promo Video, no not at the moment. We have done a few systems already but all have had mufflers.

This is the hooker promo video.
