Hood Lifting At High Speeds

Has anyone seen the youtube in Mexico with a SC 5.0 running the #drivermod Viper? Not concerned about winners/losers, but concerned that the video shows the hood lifting away from the quarterpanels at around 120 mph. Might upset the aero when on a road track.

Yes, I have seen the video. That's a standard performance feature of the S550. It helps get more air to the intake. Thought everyone knew that.

Seriously though, it's what I would call "typical". My hood does the same thing. People will say you need to adjust the rubber bumpers but nothing I've done has worked for me.

I've noticed it on S550s,and adjusting the rubber stops, making them taller is supposed to help. I've yet to test it myself.

so I just watched the video... It looks to me like the car has the front grill delete... I wondered if that is increasing the resistance on the bottom side of the hood and lifting it?

FYI Hennessey went 207mph with theirs and I don't think they modded any aero parts. If it were my car I'd have an actual hood vent like the Shelby's to reduce front end lift.

Had mine up to 150...it was the same. After 120 I was really thinking about backing out of it due to the hood shaking so bad. I stayed in it with the right foot mashed to the floor...definitely an uneasy feeling tho!

i take mine up to 130 sometimes and have never seen any hood vibrations. hood lift i dunno because i can't see it
