Hood Issue

That hood would have been an automatic deal-breaker for me, for the simple fact even the stock hood is borderline acceptable IMO. My other car is a Tesla, with fantastic visibility, so every time I jump on the Bullitt, I feel claustrophobic in comparison. The only reason I bought the 2019 Bullitt is because Ford lowered the hood a little (probably the most possible) compared to pre-2018 cars. But still, it's still bad. I'd tell dealer to change the hood or no deal. But the other thing you could do is try to find somebody with a stock hood in your color willing to do a straight swap, if dealer doesn't want to accept that request. Good luck.

Just curious if you’re going to eventually want more power out of the car? If so, keep the hood and add the ram air duct work to the open slot.

Yeah I know it would be a perfect fit. It was just irritating me test driving the car and seeing the back flat part of the hood.

I'd look for a local w/in a few hours of driving range who's interested in swapping. Might take a little while but I bet you could find someone to trade. That hood says show, no go (at least to me). My issue is getting air OUT from under the hood, not cramming more air into it.

OK Folks. Here's what we got..
JUST picked up the car. WOW.

Next I'm keeping the hood for now. Not that bad, but keeping an open mind. A new hood is 900.00 factory. 500.00 paint. I'll see.
Next question... the inside of the hood has no channeling or even a diverter of some type for water entering the 2 openings!
I don't see why the previous owner didn't finish up with installing the diverter or whatever its called. I do see the option to buy it on the hood website.
But for now.. what do you think I can put in the vents until its solved? I was thinking maybe foam of some sort?
I just don't want water getting on the engine now.

As long as the water doesn’t get directly on the air filter (if the car has an open Cold Air Kit), the water won’t hurt it at all. The worst you’ll have to contend with will be a dusty engine, but even that is manageable. I’ve always sprayed my engines off periodically to keep them clean, as dirt can contribute to retaining heat. I also opened up my factory driver’s side vent on my Mustang and have driven it through brushless car washes with no issue. I think you’ll be fine.

Keep it. You'll get used to it. Drove trucks for a living. Mostly 48 foot bobtails. You're up high, the hood blocks the view of the front and you have to learn to estimate. Part of the driving test when you go for a class B or A is that there is a limit line painted on the ground and you have to stop within 3 feet of it. Over 3 feet out or over the line... you failed. Trust me, you'll get used to it.

It doesn't have a cold a intake. Maybe that's why the owner couldn't install the hood diverter? I would still like to 'filter" off the openings for now. Maybe can cut that thin black filter material and tape it from the inside?

Seems I'm leaning that route. But now would like to do something with the vent openings. Would like to stop water going in there. But not sure if the diverters from the hood company can be installed with a stock air box cover. Now in the meantime would like mabe to block them

It can be installed with the factory airbox cover. I do not have a CAI yet until next month but I did install the ram air duct and there are no fitment issues with the stock airbox

OK. I Just ordered the underside air diverter. I'm glad at least at this point you can use the stock air filter.
BTW, does a cold air intake make a noticeable difference? Maybe more so with this aftermarket ram air hood?
