So on my way to Texas from Granger, guess a rock decided it wanted to take a little out of my hood. The damage is very tiny, but because It tore through the decal it's very noticeable. Anyone have good recommendations? Saw a new hood decal would be like $500.

Damn that was a sharp rock! Sorry to see that, I'd just as the dealer on a long shot if they would cover it under warranty. I know I know, super long shot but you don't know till you try.

Ye I went by the dealer and they only have a separate body shop and it's not covered.

Bad news: That won't be your last stripe gouge. Start experimenting with mixing touch-up paint until you get a dry match.

Aw man that sucks, and on the way home on its first trip. Keep us posted on your solution, I’m considering ordering a spare set from Ford for placement down the road. not sure how long oem FJG stripes will be produced.

This is why I preferred shipping mine to TX. I have full PPF and a matte piece covering the decal. Not worried about it but I did have concerns about it getting torn like that before the PPF install.

agreed. Best bet (imo) and what Id do is find the best matching paint and just touch up.

The oem ones are like $500 minimum haha, those UK websites look to be pretty legit and only $190 for the hood.

Get a small piece of matching vinyl wrap and lay it on top. You'll forget all about it. I did it with a gloss black stripe. Can't even see it.

Also, after you cover that little piece, lay PPF over the entire decal stripe and it will be totally gone. No joke. PPF hides a lot.

Yea, I wouldn't spend the loot at this time and go with a touchup plan. From the looks of it ppf would have taken a hit too. I would definitely take the NJTony approach.
