Wax hood decal ?

2022 Mach 1 1970 Cuda 383cu Tremec 5 speed.
Can the hoods flat black decal be waxed ?
I assume it can, but have been paranoid ever since a bad experience several years ago.

I don't know about waxing, but there was no issue with ArmorShield IX ceramic coating. Didn't change the matte finish at all.

I wouldn't put classic carnauba wax on it, especially if it's the rougher surface version of non-FJG colours, it could smear and not get fully buffed, you want to treat it very gently (same with washing). But ceramics works fine on it, I have it myself and regularly use Auto Finesse Caramics Gloss Enhancer spray detailer with SiO2. Despite the name, the matte vinyl remains fully matte and has perfect protection.

I would leave it alone with waxes.

303 Aerospace Protectant is good for vinyl and plastic. Carpro Perl is another. Both are water based. I use these on interior plastics
