Hood Bubbling paint

I contacted the my local dealer over a year ago, to ask about same issue ( hood bubbling driver side) no reason evident to me. They offered no assistance and told me would not be covered under warranty. I was looking for a reputable auto body shop to tackle the problem before spring when the cover comes off. I recently found this thread. Can anyone offer me some direction on what my next move should be. Reach back out to dealer, Ford directly, other or just crap out of luck? I have 41k mi. Thank you.

Think Salty roads contribute to the bubbles?

Bad corrosion protection and prep.

If you are within the 5 year warranty this is covered under the aluminum corrosion warranty and Ford will replace the hood. If you try to repair it, the corrosion will return. Waiting over 3 months now for my hood....on backorder.

Through the dealer. I would get a Ford CSR involved if the dealer is not cooperating. In my case no questions were asked and it was approved through Ford in about 1.5 weeks.

Looks like you have a 2016, so the dealership was wrong, as usual on this. Go read the info in the post link below, and you'll see the cut & paste right out of the warranty language for the 2016+ models. Show that to the dealership after you call Ford and get everyone straight on their own warranty language.

Had mine repainted through warranty a few years ago (2015 Mustang). Just noticed this past weekend its doing it again... May try my luck at the dealer again, but don't have high hopes. mine has just under 27k miles (been working from home since 2019 and had a short commute before) and has been mostly in the garage for the past 4-5 years.
