Another question, what front windshield will you use...Optic Armor, other brand or stock glass? I have a 19R that I am currently turning into a track road race only hotrod..
I'm leaning towards OEM windshield since it appears even the 1/4in Optic Armor needs to be braces above 150mph.
But I plan to use optic armor/polycarbonate for the rest of the windows

Testing the safety nets before I weld the hooks permanently into place. Going with the seat containment nets used in IMSA for the mains nets. One on each side. Will add Scroth window net later if I donā€™t figure out a door window solution.

Am ready for painting. Sand blasted all the needed bits, scuffed the bare metal, and sanded exterior/door jambs/etc. Plan is for Steel it on the underside, wheel wells, engine bay, and interior so its durable, easy to repair, and can be welded through. Exterior body panels will be white and then wrapped in vinyl. Really excited to get started on reassembly. Shortblock is at the machine shop now. Trans should be about 2 weeks out.

Made some progress last night

I am officially a steel-it fan boy. This stuff goes on soooooo good. Very forgiving - just not for your bank account.

15 cans covered the roll cage, complete underside (including wheel wells), and engine bay. Ordered another 12 to finish interior. Hoping to finish up the painting this weekend.

Steelit needs to be shaken a lot for even flow.. looks great, I want to go with Wimbelton white for my interior and cage

It's amazing. Basically powercoat in a can that you don't have to cook in an oven and you can weld through. Used a lot in the offroad industry.

In other updates, completed the last of my my major parts orders yesterday.

AJ Hartman modular rear diffusor, Cortex Penske Coilovers, and Chillout cooling system.

Be honest. Did you make engine noises while sitting in the seat? Is that why there is no video of that step? :cwl:

Love following your build!

For those interested - I weighed the tub today. About where I expected

IMG_1255.JPG

Interesting of note - the floor is just the tiniest bit uneven and since the tub has so little flex, the corner weights are wild
