I like to disassemble things.
Kevin. Just sitting here studying your many photos that depict your work on the cage. I can smell the melted wire from here and it puts a smile on my face. I can see your train of thought with each bead and they all make sense. Your methodology has become second nature which impresses the shit out of me because this isn't your main gig but rather a skill your were motivated to pick up on your own. Major fucking kudos.

Best BBQ will be in some run down shack with a huge smoker in the parking lot. They will open at 10AM and close around 11AM when they sell out.

Thanks, Tob. Means a lot coming from you, sir! Thanks for putting up with all my questions :)

Ya'll are killing me with all the BBQ back and forth. Haha. I'll admit, I shy away from providing opinions on BBQ. I just let others take the lead there. I'm more of a taco man myself. I'll never turn down BBQ - especially the home made stuff - but I usually find myself navigating to tacos or towards Houston of Vietnamese food.

Got started with the sand blasting while I wait for my safety nets to come in. I knew this would be messy, but WOW. Nothing could have prepared me for the mess this makes. I went through 500lbs of media today and only got through the underside, rear wheels, and some of the sides. Spent more time cleaning than blasting I think.

Goal is not to strip every surface - but to decontaminate all the welded bits and roughen up the surface enough for the Steel-It to bite into.

Finished the dry sump oil tank enclosure editing. I was really happy with how the enclosure mounting and enclosure came out. Fairly accessible and still fully protected hose lines and tank.

Answering that question can get yā€™all in a heap of trouble around here. But hereā€™s a couple for you, if you have wheels:

Kevin, what welder did/do you use for the cage and body? Also did you use .035 wire?

Miller Multimatic 220 - worth every penny. I used 30 wire based on my experience with it and what I heard from a few trusted sources - basically a bit more forgiving working around the joints and weird angles

Another question, what front windshield will you use...Optic Armor, other brand or stock glass? I have a 19R that I am currently turning into a track road race only hotrod..
